Seriously I am trying to download a HTTP file and with a download manager it is coming in at a super speed of 100B/S:mad:

WTF am I paying for a 4MB line and a 4MB account then? :confused::confused:

Im getting 20k on my 4m today. Earlier on it was 5k. wth??!!

1. what are you downloading...
2. where are you downloading from...
3. has it always been like this?
4. Did you reset router?
5. Did you call and get your ports reset?
6. did you call at all?

Dude I have had it too, cancelled today, currently downloading from HTTP from my company webside at a staggering 17kB/s and its 19:35 in the evening. Note, it's also a 4mb uncapped shaped line

Why does one need to phone a company your paying a good lot of money to reset your ports?

That bit is Telkom's job not MWeb's btw, and I suppose you're simply in the best position to tell when something's gone wrong. They just won't pick it up immediately for every line in the country.

Can't say I had the same problem
Just downloaded Fallout New Vegas from Steam and got great speeds
MWEB Rocks

Can't wait to play it tomorrow!:p

1) I am downloading an update for my Mac.
2) From Apple
3) No otherwise I would have cancelled MWEB again.
4) Yes of cause
5) No but I did change to my capped adsl backup account and it flies
6) Yes I did actually and apparently there is no problem? So I must obviously be making it up along with the rest of the users with issues.

Do you ever get over 300k?
I never do

I never get over 250K

" Mweb will be upgrading Soon (tm) "

" Thanks for your patience "

Im lucky I dont download anything from HTTP... other than the odd program from filehippo or a hon update

if it wasnt for the torrents I download with this account I would have given them the boot aaaaages ago

Clearly 100 > 4, so wheres the problem?

But yeah serious wtf....any slower and it would be you uploading the file.

Thank you MWEB, I just want to say thanks again for the fact that it is faster for me to surf a web page, download a file on my Mac while connected to my HTC Desire using 3G. Than it is using your network on a 4MB uncapped account.

Thanks again much appreciated!

You're getting 100b/s because you're on mweb.
You know they're shaping http now too.

Welcome to ShapeWeb, there is currently a problem and we are looking into it.
We do not plan on unshaping anything before the hours of 4 in the morning, to which if your speeds are crappy then it is simply a seed to peer issue.
If you have any other problems, do feel free to download with your cellphone as it is likely that your cellphone will always be more stable than your line.

As much as I hate the constant need for people to create new threads and complain about speeds or whatever, it does not look like an isolated problem.

From what I can see quite a few ISPs are having speed problems, well some more than others.

if you don't do torrents then they don't warry about you coz when you complain about that they react quicker than an hore on the corner of the street...

Bwahahaha:):):) been stewing on that one for a while haven't you?
True about the cellphone aswell, but in fairness it costs a gazzilion SA ronchies per gig of mobile data....
