Call any cellphone or landline for 25c per minute

Ah - so that's what all of the high bank charges are subsidising?

This reminds me of what Virgin Mobile did one year around this time.
3 months and then back to normal and you're locked in because you've been brainwashed or don't really care to move to another provider.
Lock and load, FNB noobs are within range.

Eish, If I read correctly then this must be the best deal of the century.

Just made a call to a cellphone...it's true! Was billed less than 25c for just under a minute!!
I called FNB to make sure it is accurate. While they could not immediately explain how they do it, they did confirm that you can call any phone for 25c per minute. With interconnect rates of up to 89c per minute it is impressive indeed.

How the hell does it work ?

The article does not highlight if you need to be an FNB customer or not, neither does it suggest how one makes use of this "fabulously cheap" offer !!!!!!

You need to be an FNB customer - if you are not they have the ability to open up an account for you online. Basically it's a VoIP app that you download from their website that you use on your cellphone, but you can also use it from your PC if you want (like Skype)

Been using their VoIP for a year now...so far so good...

What type of application is it, ie which cellphones will it run on ?

Okay but this is for 3 months only, then where will the rates be levelling out at?

It is standard SIP so you can use any SIP client for any device. If you have a device that has no SIP clients, it is probably time to upgrade your Nokia 3310...

If it is a voip app, you need to add the cost of the data used to it as well.
