Red Bull Mobile launches with aggresive pricing

Cell C officially launched mobile services under the Red Bull brand on Tuesday night, offering two postpaid services.

For those wondering about out-of-bundle pricing, here are the details from the Red Bull Mobile website.

Out-of-bundle national call per minute: R1.50
SMS/MMS per message: R0.50
Out-of-bundle data per MB: R0.40
International calls per minute: R1.50
International SMS: R1.50

1) Premium rated and international calls are excluded from bundle. Billing increment: 60/60
2) Premium rated and international SMS are excluded from bundle
3) Billing increment: 10KB
4) Applies to both Off-Peak and Peak usage
5) The rate shown excludes the National landline charge levied on International Calls

Crap ... and I just got a cell c contract ... this would be MUCH cheaper for me :(

Does anyone know what the out of bundle tariffs will be such as for sms's and data? I can't seem to find that info on their site. Or will it be the same as Cell C ... R1.50, 50c per sms and R2/mb?
 
Great packages. Good to see data included. Timing for me is all wrong. Pity.

At least now there is the alternative of Cell C and Redbull when my VC contract concludes.

"Out of bundle rates are 40c/MB for data on the R149/month package and 30c/MB on the R249 plan; calls are R1,50/minute out of bundle, billed by the minute, day or night. Data bundles will be available soon after launch for subscribers who expect to use more than the data allocated in the contracts."

I see many people getting these contracts to use with their existing smartphones.

Half a gig of data and 200 minutes is outstanding at R249.

I get a big twitch in my brooks when i see these kind of deals.... bye bye MTN, you are the weakest link. My xperia X10 is going to love the 500MB AND 200 minutes anytime. I will support Cell C all the way!!! Cant wait for my existing contract to expire. These Cell C deals really exposes the rubbish we been force fed all these years! :eek:

Just seen it's bundled with an android device too... I could sell the X10 or the RBM
