Aggressively priced BlackBerry contracts from Vodacom

Damage control, the only reason Vodacom ever come to the party, hopefully SA are gatvol of their nonsense by now.

RBM still cheaper!! I just wanna hear how good their service is before I hop over. My vodacom contract is done in 6 months or so, currently pay like 350 bucks for 135 mins and no SMS's or Data. RBM is a dirt cheap!!

Huge difference between R200 and 200 minutes. But I guess the per minute with RBM will cancel that out.

Nice to see Vodacom come to table but still not convinced if they offered BlackBerry Torch 9800 or Samsung Galaxy S now you are talking but I will pass on this offer and sign-up with CELL C as you get 200 minutes.

Good BlackBerry offer. R149 for both the device, airtime and unlimited Internet access will appeal to a wide audience - and especially parents who want a predictable bill for their child's cellphone.

This can't really compete with the Cell C offers. Prices are the same yes, but you get a lot more for your money from RBM. That's even before you consider the phones. On the Vodacom one, you have to be stuck with a Blackberry.... While on the Cell C offer you get a pretty decent Android. It might be a no-name Chinese one, but the specs are pretty impressive.

Pretty decent pricing for blackberry contracts, but I don't think these contracts are even supposed to compete with the RBM offers. I would suggest most customers would either be in the market for a BB contract (specifically for BB) or looking for a good android deal. Am I wrong?

Well my MTN BB contract is R360 p/month for exactly what Vodacom is offering there for R250 p/m. So it's definitely a good deal, better than MTN by far.

Yeah, it's quite disgusting how these cell companies try to confuse people with misleading ads, all in the name of not letting people compare services and packages easily.

200 airtime minutes is definitely not the same as R200 worth of airtime. Off course one bills per second, but then the rate they charge the calls per minute is sky high. The other gives free minutes, but then bills per minute, ie 5 second call is billed the same as a 60s call, and also the rate per minute is then often very high.

I can't wait for the new consumer act !

This is so lame... Vodacom always reacts to new threats in this way... Very weak comeback indeed.

I'm sure RBM's Blackberry deals (when released) will offer more value for money...

Pretty decent deal from Vodacom.....BUT....I predict 8.ta to luanch something better with blackberry deals next month ;-)

Well my MTN BB contract is R360 p/month for exactly what Vodacom is offering there for R250 p/m. So it's definitely a good deal, better than MTN by far.

Buddy, you're getting ripped off then. I pay R180 per month and get something like R160 worth of airtime, 25 sms, the BB service and of course the phone, at MTN. This offer is about on par with that, and that's been going around since the middle of last year or so.

Everybody is excited about the Vodacom contracts, but nobody says anything about the crap blackberries.

Those two phones (both made from cheap South Vietnamese plastic) can't even do HSDPA properly. :wtf:
