MTN focusses on broadband experience

I don't consider 19c per meg "affordable". I consider it premium priced.
 
"Uncapped Lite are throttled to 128Kbps after a fair usage limit of 3GB"

And why don't they state their rather standard R2.00p/mb that is what most people on prepaid etc pay rather than the only number mentioned 19c.
That speed is pretty unusable, so the Uncapped offer is: 3.5Gb then...?

Yes - and they also automatically added bookmarks. This is nonsense - it is like my ISP decided they are going to re-brand my Chrome Web Browser on my PC automatically and add a bunch of bookmarks! Nobody will stand for it if it happens on a PC, but on a phone it is suddenly ok? MTN should stay away from the data (which includes bookmarks) on my phone - they have no right to mess with it.
 
Snooooooze... Yes performance is going to improve but nobody can afford for it to be more than a backup internet connection.

MTN; speed wise your network has it's moments (all be it few and far between - read between 11pm and 7am), consistent throughput is however non-existent. And when it comes to your billing and customer care, you suck the big one! Or to paraphrase Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory; "you bunch of poopyheads!"
 
My MTN experiences is so unreliable! It's always slow when I use it. Granted, today it was good in a bit of need, but it's the first time in the ast 25 times I used it that it actually performed nearly good. Forget 42Mbps, get my 7.2 to work decently before you try for the better speeds. MTN, not a single thing mentioned in that article shows. FFS, start actually delivering service! I live in Pretoria, and I constantly have to give my work cell number out that is on Vodascum for people to be able to reach me! MTN you suck you bunch of poopyheads!
 
What the F ever MTN! Then why the hell can I only get an EDGE signal on my phone in Claremont, Cape Town (which happens to be the busiest, biggest suburb in the Southern Suburbs). My neighbors have the same issue including my mate who lives about 500m away.

MTN you suck! While my wife's blackberry is chugging along full steam ahead on Vodacom I have to walk around the house trying to get a better signal so I can download a bloody attachment. Sort your sh*t out.
 
Sort out the price per meg and your non-existent customer care first and then you can focus on broadband speeds. What's the point of having world class internet when you want to get your invoice you have to wait 3 months and in the meantime settle the ridiculous bill they have sent? Customer service at Empty N sucks!!!
 
funny how they can offer lower prices in other parts of africa and the middle east with supposedly lower economies of scale than SA... anyone with half a brain will realise they are being ripped off, thats why im on cell c :)
 
Instead of fluffy PR articles MTN, you may want to price your service more aggressively to entice new customers. I've been using Vodacom data-bundles for years now, and while it's every bit expensive as yours, at least my odds of getting good connectivity is higher.

Eg for me to switch you would have to offer substantial cost benefits over my current solution.

Dont make me laugh! Try and call 808 and ask for a 2GB bundle, they say they Dont have the option on their system to load those bundles.. Your Thieves and force me to load 1 GB bundles making me pay extra! The only way i can do 2GB bunble is going to a shop loading R389 Airtime then converting it to Data.
I hate you MTN, More than anyting. You telling me your network is so good blah blah!, yet i cannot even do a webex without DC ing, F your service as u dont have any!

the speed dials can easily be edited and replaced with your own speed dials,

I don't think you understand - they did this on an EXISTING installation of opera mini. I already customized my speed dials when I installed Opera Mini from the Opera site some time back. MTN messed with my bookmarks without any interaction from me and without my consent. What your saying is that it would be ok for your ISP to place Desktop icons on your PC next time you connect to the internet, but that is ok because you can delete them? I would have agreed with you if this was a pre-install provided by MTN, but it is not.
 
I used MTN and it was fine for my needs but it's just too expensive(R380 for 2gigs). I got Cellc now and I'll report the performance at home tonight. Here at work is freakin fantastic. 7,33 mbps download speed. :D And only R250 pm for 5 gigs!
