Cybersmart Connection Problems

Have any other CS user's been having trouble at peak times with connections? Just about every night at about 7 I loose connection. I assume it's server load, but that's no excuse.
 
No, I had this strange random dcs tho, but I haven't dc'ed for a few days now so it seems normal to me.

i'm with orb but have the exact same problem...keep losing connection and have to reboot my router ... i've already rebooted about 5 times tonight alone ...orb is on the cybersmart backbone as well.

Do you mean like, you suddenly loose connection while dsl is still synced and you still have a ip?
 
Same here, frequent disconnects. The git at tech support is useless and kept on saying they have no problem and the problem must be on my side. This despite me telling him the problem does not occur when using other ISPs. How do companies employ people like this that are only good for looking at tick sheets?
 
Cybersmart is currently awaiting international bandwidth upgrades which should be completed by the end of the month if all goes well.

So clients might experience higher than normal pings / timeouts (random times during the day), depending on how busy the network is at that time.

It seems that all Cape Town based user connections are experiencing the issue no matter which ISP; FNB Connect / WA / Afrihost, etc.

Due to Telkom maintenance, ADSL customers will experience connectivity issues between 10pm and midnight during the following days. - Taken from WA website.

[However, most of the disconnects started on the 16th of March and seem to be occurring between the hours of 8:00 - 10:00 am / 5:00 - 7:00 pm / 10:00 - 12:00 pm - resetting the line, account or restarting the modem has no effect. Seems we will have to wait for the maintenance window to close.]
