Windows Phone Marketplace coming to South Africa

They probably going the same route as iTunes, by splitting the games/music
 
Creates great opportunities for Win7 based apps to be ported to Silverlight to run on WP7, especially in the finance industry.
 
This is probably to ensure that when the Nokia Windows phone comes out that most countries that Nokia has a stronghold over will have easy access to the marketplace
 
pity we still waiting for paid android market....:cry:

I hope you know you cant sideload apps on Win Mobile? Even if you have the SDK you need to join the developer program to install your apps, this is done by registering your phone.

With ChevronWP7 - if you enable “developer mode” on a Windows Phone 7 device, you can sideload apps. Enabling developer mode also allows you to install unapproved apps on your device. But we plan to take all our apps via the MS Win 7 MarketPlace.
 
Only reason I am going after this is its one of the issues we have with WM7

We can create custom apps for our users on android but can not do the same for Apple and WM7 users. Something that is really a pain.

If we want custom experience for a user of any of the other mobile platforms we have to create a mobile web page :(

Yes, that is true, but we have a copy for testing and (a seperate phone hopefully).
We don't have a problem paying the $99 to register our "official" phones and then publish our apps for internal use only (when we finally receive the phones).

Your inability to grasp the difference between "their" and "there" (and "it's" and "its") tends to raise more serious questions about you than does the buffoonishly predictable comment, which adds nothing to anybody's understanding and only displays your prejudice. An uncontrolled eruption, perhaps? Maybe you should stop wasting our time rather than jabber on about Microsoft's time - they're big and ugly enough to take care of their own time.

If there was a way of verifying, I'd bet you a dozen beers you couldn't mention one difference between WM6 and WP7 without first checking on the internet. (But of course your retort is utterly predictable.)

Back to topic: Apparently Windows Marketplace has reached 15,000 WP7 apps in six months. Not too shabby for an entirely new opsys.

I understand your pain, we are fortunate that we can dictate the hardware and our apps are only for use by our employees (for the time being) - not sure how one sets that up on the MS WP7 Marketplace.

It truly is an easy platform to code for and I do think with mango that number will increase big time(current limitations in addressing hardware is a pain in the behind).

And yes, I know I am an Android fanboy but we do need M$ to join the party already. More competition = better products for all of us.
