Touch screen BlackBerry Bold 9900 announced

It looks good for now, but with the dual core's that is coming out is it enough? I had the original bold, and to me it was the best phone out there at that moment in time, but this doesn't seem to be the game changer that the original was. Hopefully 7 is a real step up and hopefully it will compete well with the android devices. I am missing BIS on my android device, but that is about it - and the keyboard, which this one won't have.

But overall, I think they are going to do real well with this device as I can't see any software in the foreseeable future (probably only the next three months) that will need anything more powerful than what this.

When will this be available in SA?
I'm due for upgrade in June

I love my blackberry bold, but the screen is horrible for internet browsing. why cant they bring out a screen comparible to the iphone or desire hd?... *sigh*

Such a large screen with the Bold's keyboard?! The keyboard is what defines the Bold series. There will be a full touchscreen BB with the large screen size. For me a phone's screen will never be good enough for web surfing ... therefore the iPad/Playbook/etc. For me the Bold is the perfect communications device and I will want to upgrade to this new Bold in Sept.

I'd take one. It works straight out the box. Don't need any other apps to be able to edit / read MS office docs. That's a BIG plus for me.

I think the picture isn't really doing the display justice. It's actually pretty good-looking and responsive.

It's no Retina, but the extra size is noticeable and the resolution high enough to display crisp images/fonts/pictures.

Posted an image gallery (though the camera on the Nexus S isn't doing the display much justice here either).
