RIM and Microsoft partner: BlackBerry going Bing

Mmmmmmmmmeh!

I would do whatever it takes to keep using Google. And if there is absolutely no way for me to do that, I would even consider giving up my BB and switching to Android.

You can always get an iPhone/Android

So BB decided to follow Nokia to the grave...

Bad Move RIM

My sentiments exactly. I've recently updated to OS 6 on my Bold 9700 and love it, however, having to use bing for everything could very easily push my away from BB.

This comment I seen on engadget says it best:

Microsoft seems to be playing pirate, boarding whatever ship they can, only to find that the reason they had no problem commandeering the vessel, is because it ia about to sink.

You guys speak as though Blackberries were something special in the first place :D The only reason to have one is because of BIS, not it's cutting edge OS and awesome search features.

Bahahaha! Enjoy your crappy search-engines! Now Microsoft is making awesome desktop OS's again, but screwing up everything else.

Bing SUCKS. Search and Maps.

Oh no! I just hate Bing. It's definitely inferior to Google Search and Maps. It looks like Google Maps are much more up to date and also have more POI's (Points of Interest) for SA than Bing. Take Facebook for example - they use Bing - when I gave "Places" a try, it couldn't even show a decent map of where I was. Checking out the same area on Google Maps revealed much more detail and all the venues / business were listed.

I'll definitely look at getting an iPhone or Android device when I upgrade in Dec... but I guess a lot can happen 'till then ;). Currently I'm not too impressed with my Storm 2. It's going backwards with every update.

People who have BBs, don't care about using crap... So Bing should work just fine for them.

To go with Google would be like giving Android a shot in the arm. All the best to BB & RIM anyway.

Not having a BB, unless I got the tiger by the tail, one could switch/program the default elsewhere?

Seems like all the mobile failures are gathering together. Quick somebody call Siemens :D
