Telkom promises higher broadband speeds and better quality

Before expereminting with higher speeds they should get the basics sorted out and make sure the slower speeds are stable.
 
Telkom prolly can't even spell IBIWISI.
I vote they start a car guard nationalisation programme. That industry is way too casual.
 
They need to kill of the crappy sub 1mbs packages while not raping us with prices.
 
Anyone else lost interest in the story after reading "Telkom" and "promise" in the same sentence? ;)

I suggest first & damn most important; "They get themselves an approachable service/help desk, with the least amount of AA on it!"

All this because a (monopoly) fixed line broadband provider is feeling the pinch from cellular broadband providers.

Disgustingly sad country we live in.
 
Something tells me that Telscum haven't realised that people are willing to pay more for quality etc etc... but not more than the are paying now because we are currently paying TOO bloody much.

Fixed line broadband, should be comparable/faster than mobile for LESS money... not more money.
 
I for one am so gatvol about these "selected areas"... So what telkom is saying is that if you currently get the full 10mb line speed, they will give you 24mbps, and if you live too far away from the exchange, then sorry, but you are actually only paying for a 1mbps line. Stupid fskers.

I pay R413 pm and get 4mb, barely, and then a friend who lived close to Century city, pays the same but gets 8mb. Wtf. How can we let telkom charge one rate and provide differing quality of service depending on where you live? Seems like a form of apartheid to me... Aaah, you live in 'that' area, sorry, exchange is 5.5km away, so you only get 1mbps. Then someone who lives next door to the exchange pays R326 and gets a free upgrade to 1mbps. Hello? Where is the logic?

Instead of paying out money, spend it building exchanges in new areas that have been built in the last 10-20 years.

Hell yeah! They say I can do up to 10Mbps, but I can can't even maintain 3 Mbps. Give us stability before you give us higher speeds.
