Vodacom’s network problems explained (23 - 24 July 2011)

Somebody sabotaged their HLR?
then fried the microwave...and did not renew the Blackberry debit order....

baastert..

Yip, come November I'm done with them. Enough of this.

No offence but I don't buy this "BlackBerry" incident many folks were experiencing problems on Blackberry messenger "ONLY" happen last week in CANANDA.. I was able to browse perfectly without any glitch but sending messages on blackberry messenger were impossible - no messages were able to go thru until about 11pm...

This is crap.... I now have both phones down.

So the stats are:

BlackBerry = 3 Days
Samsung = 1 Day

............:mad:

Weren't there also reports of people having issues on iPhone as well?

I am in the middle of Umhlanga with no BBM and no browsing capabilities... this is getting a bit ridicilous now... How many more times?

Confirmed - there is now a problem with Vodacom 3G signal in Umhlanga (Gateway) and asked to move to 2G signal. So will I get billed half this month as I am only using half the service?

This is becoming EXTREEMLY frustrating...

My Uncle has been on Vodacom for ever and he had "no service" on his iPhone even after a reboot. Since Vodacom turned RED looks like they are going to have an outage once a month!!!

but sending messages on blackberry messenger were impossible - no messages were able to go thru until about 11pm...

Mine went through randomly ... and it made for some interesting conversations

Vodacom is going to lose a huge amount of customers due to these outages. And it seems as though they don't really care...if they did, it would never have happened in the first place.

HLR down?...these network operators should have better monitoring tools to monitor their HLRs and pick up issues earlier.

I have been turning my blackberry phone on and off for some time now. I have come to accept that when I loose my signal turning the phone on/off solves my problem. My question is, why should this be the case?
