Facebook set to ‘lock in’ users

Facebook on Friday begins rolling out its biggest ever shake-up, in a move observers say will not only profoundly alter how its 800 million users interact with the site, but will keep them coming back for decades to come.

You rang? :D I am not going to give the pleasure of saying "I told you so". I won't tell you about how glad I am that I deactivated my account and got a life. I'll think it though, but I won't say it ;) :p
 
So how is displaying your info in a different way going to stop you from leaving the site?
 
And facebook get crappier by the day
every change is worse than prev one

If it wasn't for the photos that my friends and I post I would also deactivate my account. The Fan pages are pretty cool too, especially bands and games.

Otherwise I also hate the drivel that people post and having to control who sees what.
 
I am really impressed with the new timeline, I have it set up on my account as a developer and although only other developers can currently see and interact with it so far I am uber excited for this to go public.

I am by no means a Facebook fan,in fact I despise it but this is impressive especially for your friends who have passed away. You can simply go and read all their history posts and view their life by year. Twitter however is the place to be ;)
 
The main reason people don't like facebook is the privacy issue.
And they respond not by fixing the issue, but by adding some other feature that the competition will be able to add as well. :erm:
 
Once google releases a decent G+ app for the iPad I'm gone from Facebook.

Good point Mike,

Nobody is forcing you to use Facebook. You want more privacy? Deactivate or just share less with everyone.

Facebook is a social media platform, not a place where you sit alone and update your profile just so you can get a glance at your life, and then don't want to show anybody.

Yes Facebook is coming up with some new and interesting stuff but if you don't like it, quit. Simple.
