iPhone 4S in South Africa: Cellphone operators respond

"Better camera"? Does it really need much improving? I have found the camerain the iPH4 to be better than most compact cameras.

The last thing I would want is more pixels crammed into it. Rather give me image stabilisation and better low light ability.
 
Strange that MBB missed the following part of the keynote: "On the 28th 22 more countries, and 70 countries by the end of the year. Over 100 carriers. "Fastest rollout ever.""

My guess is SA will get stock in the 3rd wave.

I addition to camera performance comparison with Galaxy and HTC, how does it compare in other areas like, call clarity, qwerty, browser, applications, etc? I hear from Samsung owners that it's excellent, and now hopefully all will be clear after this

A lot of people weren't impressed by the 4s but if they had given it the same specs and made a slight design change and call it the 5 everyone would be raving. The specs on it are incredible. Siri looks boss, the camera is supposedly insane, 1080p video, dual-core processor, 1Gb of Ram. There are netbooks with worse specs than that.

The iPhone 4S uses a new system of dual dynamic antennas, which they say will improve call quality dramatically, and also allow download speeds of 14MBs.
The browsers in most android phones such as what samsung do (This excludes the new Amazon Silk browser) use a version of apple's browser (Called WebKit).
Applications? Well, that is what the App Store is for. And it is far, far larger and of higher quality apps than most other mobile market places.
 
All the wonderful CPU and graphics power on the 4S is like someone telling me he's bought the latest & greatest gaming rig but will not upgrade his existing 17" LCD screen. I just don't get what Apple's doing here. The iPhone 4 screen is minute compared to that of the SGS2 and the SGS2 is much thinner and lighter. As a long-time Apple fan I'm somewhat shocked considering what Android will launch soon. Tuesday is Samsung's big launch day and ICS is on the menu with new hardware. Seems 2012 will be the year Android tripped iOS as far as phones go.

Cellphone screens are hardly relevant (unless you have some form of masochistic urge to consume media with a phone).

Makes a big difference when surfing the web, to name one example. Screen size does matter.

But streching the same amount of pixels over a larger area doesnt mean you have greater screen real-estate e.g. 800x480 at 4.3" vs 960x640 at 3.5"?

Try it and see for yourself. I own both devices. My wife uses the iPhone 4. I use the SGS2. The larger size of the SGS2 screen makes for a better experience even if it translates into larger pixels. The screen of the SGS2 is amazing.

DONT!!!

Its one of the reasons I cant really use my iPhone anymore.... Soooo use to 4.3" now. Even if I just us it for testing lately.

But this doesnt gel for me? The major aspect of web surfing is reading (text), and the high the resolution, the greater the number of well-formed/readable charaters are able to be packed on the screen.
