No feedback whatsoever on all the slow speed and connectivity problems and complaints.
I, for one, could not access the internet at all for over 2 hours this afternoon and had to resort to using my cellphone to connect to the net to do work, thanks for that...

Back to the speed issue -

How did we go from this:

To this:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1584304674.png

for day-time speeds while the modem is still in the exact same spot and nothing else has changed, PC software or hardware wise, etc? And no, we will not buy external antennas, splitters etc as the speed was very decent to begin with.

Is the network load on each tower now too much for the system to handle due to the new packages?
Is there now suddenly a "firmware" problem with the modems?
Is there a general network issue that suddenly caused the drop in speed?
Undersea cable broken.....again?
Have towers fallen over?
Have towers been taken over by aliens and are now streaming porn to their home planet thus using our bandwidth?
Has Malema nationalised the towers?

Please just give us a simple explanation as to why the speeds suck more than all the Kreepy's in SA combined...

I second this request. I have been quiet until now waiting for the same response and I am concerned that "Iburst" has disappeared off this forum for the past few days. I can understand one of the respresentatives being away on leave or similar but the fact that all three are missing worries me.

I have contacted the helpdesk myself and the feedback is normally "Do a speedtest - something must be wrong on your side" so I ask - if my setup has been fine until now, how did it suddenly break?

Please iburst respond because your forum users seem to be up in arms :(

Same here phone help desk first thing they sat its my router or its my pc or its the position of the modem but never their fault --Iburst fail

iBurst Speedtest:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1584711372.png

Speedtest done on my cellphone (Samsung Galaxy S with Speedtest mobile loaded):
Ping - 74ms, Download - 3.17mbps, Upload - 3.02Mbps.

And both test were done at the same time.

No special data packages on my cell contract either.
If this BS carries on for much longer, we will cancel our iBurst (been loyal customers for over 8 years now), and move to another ISP where we can at least use the net at a decent speed.
iBurst, pull up your collective socks or you will lose quite a few customers.

Likewise my speeds are abysmal and have been for a while now. Just did this test now :

Test Date: Nov 10, 2011 21:48
Connection Type: Wifi
Server: Rosebank
Download: 0.25 Mbps
Upload: 0.19 Mbps
Ping: 94 ms

I have line of sight to the tower :-/

I have a 2mb modem and external antenna

My Iburst has been down the whole of yesterday in Durban. Anyone else having issues in Durban. Some pages are loading, but for example I cannot even load www.google.co.za. So how the hell am I even to browse. Come on iBurst. What's the story? Get some responsibility!

Would just like to throw my weight behind this. Had major issues with my 2meg modem. now running on 1meg. Only getting 0.35 download though. I have been a customer for about four years. Never experienced this before. Not happy. :-(

This is ridiculous. iBurst is still down in Durban, and no response on here or apologies from iBurst. Where have they gone? Anyone else having issues around the country with iBurst connectivity? I was away last weekend and heard that there were connectivity issues during the weekend as well.

Yep, international is dead. Thank god for cell-c.

Whats going on boys?

Sent from my GT-I9100 using MyBroadband Android App

Now that yoy mention it, not only is iburst off but my vodacoms been buggy as well... :-( seems a little better now thouh.

Also had problems, Tradepage sed iBurst were not telling them what was wrong. What's the best alternative? Not ADSL. I heard some users are happy with Vodacom?? Any suggestions welcome. Tx (posted by the GameWrecker)

At the moment the network load can more than double and there will be sufficient capacity on the peering and core to handle it even with the release of the new packages.

I'll ask for some drive tests to be conducted. It is quite possible that the start of the weather and storms has rattled things and maintenance and diagnostics is required.

Thank you Ronald! I knew you would come to the party with a decent explanation.
That said, as of this morning, speeds are getting better than the dismal 0.18Mbps I got last night and there seem to be no issues with disconnects anymore.

I reckon Ronald should run iBurst, period. He seems to be the only one who is willing and able to explain issues here.

Ronald, I understand there must be problems, but does anyone think this is fair:

I am now officially sick and tired of this BS..........we are paying for "up to" 1Mbps/2Mbps connections and getting nothing short of less than dial-up speeds for weeks now.

If this crap is not sorted out by this Friday, we will cancel our iBurst account.

I'm also totally fed up.

Ever since I upgraded from my Wireless 2 package to the new Pro 10+ things have just gone downhill.

I'm experiencing times where I'm connected, but can't do anything. General speed decrease from a consistent 830kbps for the last two years to a now 220kbps.

I had 3 outages last week. I use an external antenna which isn't even necessary. Getting about 85% quality without antenna, and 100% signal quality with it.

When I log a query with the helpdesk via online form or email, it takes 6 days for them to respond. Yes 6 days. Then they respond with a "There is no current problems in your area" ... wtf.

Friday night when I got home and wanted to install Skyrim, iBurst was down. As this was more urgent than usual, I phoned the call centre, which didn't answer for about 5 tries in a 30min period. When I finally got through, the technician told me that there is a total network outage. Strange that this never appeared on the "Incident Report".

The only people that respond is the twitter account, which just tells you to call the call-centre.

I'm actually glad I'm on a month-to-month basis, cause this makes the decision very easy to switch providers.

Sorry for hogging your thread, but I think the issue is bigger than they realize.

I'm in the Centurion/Mall@Reds area btw.

Anybody with any ideas; Who can we switch to. No fixed lines so ADSL is out of the question. I heard 8ta is a good alternative. Cell data prices still to high. I just cannot handle the fact that if you stop bothering Iburst they just whish you away. Their callcentre is ok for "reboot your pc and modem" but for nothing more serious.
