How is there no thread about this? I'm surprised. For those of you who don't know, Star Wars: The Old Republic is a new MMO similar to World of Warcraft that's launching tomorrow for some and on the 20th for everyone else.
It's made by Bioware - the same company that brought you Dragon Age and Mass Effect. The game is rumored to have the most expensive game development cost ever (not because they screwed up). One of the major features is that unlike all the boring quest text that no one reads in WoW, this game has voice acting and cut scenes for every single quest, every single non playable character in the entire world in the same way Mass Effect had them. So for many who hate the 'grind' of MMOs you may want to check this one out since apparently the soloing levelling gives an experience equal to that of a great solo RPG such as mass effect..
It's pretty impressive how every quest and NPC is uniquely voice acted and scripted considering how big the game is (apparently it's a bigger world than WoW). I think it will be able to compete with World of Warcraft on a real level, unlike other MMOs that have had to eventually switch to free to play formula. Anyway, I think you should check it out if you have the slightest interested in MMOs, Star Wars or good RPGs. It's a great world, great storyline , great graphics and gameplay and has the potential to go far!
PS: I am also bringing back hard copies of SWTOR for people in South Africa. I am in Scotland at the moment and will be returning to Durban on the 22nd of December (next thurs). The game launches in shops on the 20th. The cost of the game is 40 pounds which is R520. Please PM me if you want a copy.
