Apple iPad 2 prices hiked again in SA

Raise the price, just before you need to knock it down. Smart thinking and a nice way to rip people off.

Has it really changed that much? Have other electronic goods been affected? The only other items I've seen gigantic spikes in is hard-drives and that's due to mother nature, not the exchange rate.

Prices should have gone up November then - just in time for xmas?

Old price:
R4,399
New price:
R4,999
Increase:
x1.13

Old exchange:
6.75
New exchange:
8.15
Increase:
x1.20

So I guess it's not so bad... but I still think this comes a few months before ipad3 so that the decrease in ipad2 price isnt really a decrease for core.
 
Sweet, will make it easier to flog my iPad 2 when the 3 comes out.
