Great Car Best of Both Subaru and Toyota reports say well balanced could be a real hit here if the price is right. Also talks of hotter versions that will be great. :D

Finally a decent looking Toyota/Subaru.

Been following this for a while now as well and while the price is low in the US I doubt that it will be nearly as affordable here. I also wonder whether they will be available here anytime soon. If they're not too pricey I may very well pick one up.

I really like what I have read so far about the car. A turbo AWD version would be a real killa I reckon.

Edit: AWD is probably not an option due to the low centre of gravity, engine sits very low..

Initially Subaru denied that they weren't going to do a STI version but seems they realized that nobody was buying that. It will be expensive when but a force enduction smaller capacity properly shaped sports car from Subaru would be awesome.

We have heard very little from Head Office apart from saying that it would come to SA and be sold in competition with Toyota.

Last year they were throwing figures around of mid 200's but I really cannot see that happening..:(

$20k in the US translates to R~160k, but yeah, I absolutely agree that that simply won't happen in SA. A sporty car with somewhat decent performance for much lower than R300k? My foot that that's going to happen, however much I'd like it to.
Fazda, what ever happened to the Impreza's? No longer in production?

If it was at that price range I think they will sell a LOT of them, every tom, dick and harry would buy one.

And then I wouldn't...For some reason I've always gone with the car less chosen. When the Mini was released I bought that, same with the Giulietta. I just can't stand to drive the same car as everyone else. I once had a golf...

If it comes in under the 250k mark it will sell really really well. The place will be flooded with them. Of course the waiting list will probably be a year or so. Still a really good option to have some fun at a minimal price, especially if you don't mind driving the same car as everyone else. As for the looks though, it does look like the Hyundau Tiburon...I'd rather pick up a 2nd hand Giulietta for 250k ;)

The Impreza has been discontinued in SA apart from the new XV which is arriving mid Feb. Great pity as the new Impreza saloon is stunning.

Toyota gt86 expected 3rd quarter at around 300k.
Can't wait

Considering the Yaris can top 200 000 Rand in this country I doubt the 86 will be less than 400k.
