Who here likes Eset NOD32 would you use it/buy it

As a previous Kaspersky user would you consider using and buying Eset NOD32? For both personal and business use?
 
Definitely, best AV I have ever used, unfortunately it's too expensive for me so I had to choose Bitdefender. I mean R500 for 1 user vs R290 for 3 user.

The Eset Smart security suite is what i've stuck with after trying a bunch - kaspersky slowed things down too much.
On my 2nd 2 year subscription

Last prices i had 20/6/11 were

ESET Smart Security (Home Edition) 1user / 1 Year R373.92

ESET Smart Security (Home Edition) 1user / 2 Year R560.88
 
Personally I'd stay clear from ESET as we supplied all our customers this (We own 2000 pro licenses) and yet we were overflown with Virus related issues, the PCs that got infected we managed to disinfect with Microsoft Security Essentials (AWESOME and FREE!).

ESET 99% of the time it deletes infected files, Security Essentials DISINFECT 99% o the time.

Kudos to Security Essentials...it's free and better than some (if not most) paid antiviruses....coz let's face it, who can fix their product better than MS themselves...

Don't get me wrong, ESET use to be very good....
 
Just a quick question,

Why don't you use Comodo Internet Suite? Its free, and i've found its not resource intensive, very comprehensive, and has not let me down so far in +- 2years.

I have experience the exact opposite strangely enough.

MSSE is the preferred FREE anti-virus on my side, but my preferred paid-for one is still ESSET. You have an option in ESSET for the default action upon detection. It also depends on the type of infection, most times keygens and serial generators are just infectors with nothing to disinfect and a delete is the only cure. I often use ESSET as a mop-up when MSSE has not been as successful as it should have been.

If you are an Afrihost client, you can get ESSET Smart Security 5 for around R30 a month and the ESSET NOD anti virus for around R20. Works out perhaps a little cheaper / the same as a yearly license.

My money would be on ESSET.

Last time I checked it's R500 for 1 user.
 
Eset is not bad, we also use it at our clients. must admit there are a few issues here and there with the backups at some clients conflicting with ESET but nothing major, doesnt use many system resources as far as i can tell after using it for almost 2 years. for home use i stick with MSSE, the least annoying antivirus program i have ever found, never had a virus on my home network yet, its free.. And as someone above said, who better than Microsoft to protect there own product.
 
I used to use ESET and loved it until I installed Windows 7 64 and at the time I found the 64 bit version of ESET a resource hog. I tried MSE instead and it was great, so never went back.
 
So guys if I could be competitive and supply it for cheaper would you guys be interested
 
Pretty happy with Eset for the last 5 years - caught stuff on flash sticks a couple of times - one or two false positives (Linux boot sectors). Not sure if I will renew my current 2 year sub when it comes up in Sept - running MSE trouble free on son and daughter's machines.
 
Kaspersky is such a hog. Personally i use MSE, free and does what it needs for home use. For business or corporate i would not recommend MSE though as you would probably need email scanning ect for outlook.

We also got rid of ESET across the board, we had 2 or 3 networks that had many infections on it with ESET NOD32 running.
