E-toll interdict application three years late, says SANRAL

Unterhalter said that if the applicant’s wanted to wait and see if they could influence the process through persuasion then it was their right to do so, but that litigation could not be “the remedy of last resort”.

In other words he wants the public to burn down the gantries?

The Tolls were announced a decade ago.... BUT... the fees and prices were only made public less than a year ago.
Nobody expected the fees to be that high.
That is when the opposition to the system started.

+1.

Fscking hell, SANRAL are slippery little c!@#$!@#$#@nts.

I hope that the people opposing this in court make that point as well.

No matter the outcome of this case, make Sanral feel the effect of millions of people saying NO! by not getting an e-tag.

E-toll interdict application three years late

Application by OUTA to amend case struck from roll as SANRAL asks court where opposition was three years ago.

Not looking good, it looks like they have some pretty good lawyers.
On a side note, I didnt know about it 3 years ago, i didnt see it on news nor news papers, nor websites?
Then in 2010 they were putting up the things without saying, hey we are putting these up cause of X(3 years ago discussion), then 2011 they are up, line up for, pay to get raped.

Only the application to amend the case was rejected. The case itself is ongoing.

Nobody was aware of the sheer scale of incompetence three years ago.

And that has obviously resulted in the high tolls ...

but that is precisely the point of the courts in civil matters ... if the parties can agree to a solution without the courts then everyones time and money is saved .... you only go to the courts when both parties cannot agree

He painted a picture for the court of the timeline of events that led to the looming date for the implementation of e-tolls on April 30, stating that the decision to declare the relevant roads as toll roads was already taken in 2008, after consultation with the public.
I am a member of the public and I was certainly never ever consulted.

Was anyone here consulted in 2008, or before 2008?

Does anyone here know any member of the public that was in fact consulted?

Her Untergang has made an unsubstantiated claim here and should be required to produce every single member of the public that was consulted in 2008 and prior to 2008, and have each of them testify under oath to that effect, and that public consultation needs to be extensive if SANRAL intends to cough this up in a court of law - otherwise it counts for nothing.

Please could someone (who has the time) make a Der Untergang SANRAL parody and take it viral on Youtube/Twotter/FB.

after consultation with the public. What utter Bull****!
They can win or lose the court case, Im not buying a etag and they are not accessing my banking details for sure!

Nor were we told that 70% of the money collected would go towards paying for collecting the money.

Which is rather poor form no matter which way you look at it. More hassle than its worth.
