Advisory - ICS 4.03 Acer Iconia

If you've not yet updated to ICS 4.03 you may want to hold off.

A number of users have reported some niggly issues (have a look over at XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1621025)

I've experienced the following:

Stock OTA - A500

Issues encountered:

1. "android.process.media" has stopped - only started happening after I tried adding some more music after the upgrade
2. Screen flashing
3. Orientation freeze
4. Various apps force close that worked fine on Honeycomb
5. WiFi signal weaker than before

Doesn't stop me from using but irritating nonetheless

I haven't found any real problems with the ICS update. Some apps crashing, but that is down to apps that clearly haven't been properly tested on ICS - and in a couple of cases updates fixed the problem.

Did you try a factory reset after the update? That fixed issues like this for me on other updated devices - but I haven't needed it on the Iconia.

No problems here.

Okay - hard reset

- one FC on email,
- Wi-Fi still weaker than it was on honeycomb
- media seems to be scanning ok now

I know, I know, always hard reset before/after doing a major upgrade - I should know better, etc, etc

However, I suspect that we will be seeing an update to the update soon

Sorry to jump in here, but I need a bit of info please. Got the A500 a few days ago, stock Rom 3.01, just started ota update. Screen went blank,after install started. How long should this process take? Thanks in advance.
