@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

Has Vox completely removed the bolt-on product? I thougt it was just being replaced with the fat-pipe lite + bolt on package but I don't see it on their website at all anymore.

Streaming affected also on VOX bolt-on.

Just noting that this & similar comments to do with streaming issues etc., taken from the Vox Fatpipe thread ..

the problem is definitely sitting at the IPCs, which is especially frustrating for us in the Eastern Cape as we have to often make use of 2 x IPCs before international breakout. I cannot use my internet at the moment. Streaming takes about 5 minutes to buffer 1 minute of SD video on a 20Mbps line (150GB capped Fat Pipe Vox account). I hope you fix this issue soon Vox.

.. also seems to be affecting the bolt-on. I've noticed in this last month that where I was able to stream easily at 720p on a 2Mbps line, YouTube now defaults to 360p, and I can go up to 480p without much issue. However, if I reset it to 720p, then have to pause it for about a minute or more, so buffering doesn't affect the stream.

Note also that this all while my actual line speed has gone up from 2Mbps to just over 2.5Mbps owing to the Telkom upgrades & fact I'm now on a new ADSL 2+ exchange.

At least I now know the fault is with Vox, and not that interleave story that Telkom introduced - I don't game, anyway, so shouldn't be affected by the pings going up quite a bit.

Therefore, @Voxy, please bear-in-mind that bolt-on (in the E/Cape at least) is having a few issues on this front, as well.

having endless problems with my bolt-on account.

my download speed range from 50-200kbps from 18.00 till 00.15 or so and then run at 1270kbps after 00.15.

there's something seriously wrong.

both my axxess and cybersmart accounts run at full speed all the time.

had my port reset several times.

reported a fault with telkom.

only problem i have is with vox, both my bolt-on and fatpipe accounts.

its very frustrating

strangely for the fourth week day, my downloads suddenly sped up from around 200kbps from 18.00 till around 00.30 to all of a sudden full speed 1270kbps.

i've tested torrents, vpn, file locker, google drive, uploaded and rapidgator - all from 50-200kbps

very strange indeed!

Just your vox account? Have you tried other accounts? Is your line synced? etc etc

its just my vox accounts that got a problem.

had my port reset several times.

other isp accounts work 100%

logged a fault with telkom.

my download speed from 18.00 - 00.30 around 200kbps. then it shoot up to 1370kbps till around 03.30 then back to 200kbps

@mika1000 - it seems Vox (@Voxy) is only giving feedback in the "Fatpipe" & "Official Vox DSL Feedback" threads, so you're better off posting in the Official one to do with Bolt-on, I'd imagine ..http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/776126-Official-Vox-DSL-feedback-thread

It might be the recent Seacom issues causing havoc with your Vox accounts (both Fatpipe & Bolt-on), so before you waste more time with Telkom, see if things settle over the next few days, after reviewing feedback from @Voxy in the Official Vox thread.

By the way, I did yet another test a short while ago (bearing in mind I'm on 2.5Mbps line, and you seem to be on a much faster one). On Vox Bolt-on, I d/loaded a tech mp3 of around 40MB. My speeds settled between 190 - 210 KB/sec. I thought that strange, as before the Telkom upgrades to my exchange when the line ran at 2Mbps, I could get around 208 KB/sec, and for a short time after the upgrades (before things seemed to go haywire with Vox the last few weeks), I was getting around 240 KB/sec on d/loads :wtf:

I then realised that I'd earlier opened a YouTube vid, and it was running in the background @ 720p, so all-in-all, things seem to be improving again @ Vox :p

Hope you come right soon.

Been steaming YouTube live at 720p60fps all evening with no problems. Even gamed a little. Zero problems to report my end.

i'm getting the idea that vox throttles the bolt-on that the users must cancel it as my average download speed stay around 200 - 400kbps max on a 10mb line syncing at 12479kbps
