Hi,

Has any one here dealt with them (Car Service City) before? ( centurion preferably, anywhere else welcome to)

Thinking of taking my Car there for a Major Service, but before I do just want to know if there are any things to look out for.

Thanx

They will call you back after you have dropped your car off to tell you there are a million things wrong that they need to fix, dont do it they are a bunch of scam artists. Stay away

Stay Away from them! They raped me for everything i was worth, and then still took a little more after that.

This was the Sea Point branch in CPT though...

like said above, they always find things wrong that they find want to fix and phone u, if u do use them just say no to these extra things.

try to google ecar servicing, had good service from them. posting from phone, so no link.

cant find anything on google :(

edit: nvm, found it! damn google things they know what I am actually searching for! :P

I've benn using them (about 5 different franchises) for years and most of the time they did a good job.
Last time I took my car, the car was vibrating so terribly I didn't know what was was happening. It eventually stopped on its own because they couldn't detect it with their machines. They are the cheapest I could find anywhere (you get what you pay for?).

Go to Steve's auto or Bosch car services.

On a similar topic, does a service include them tuning the car's timing and idling to perfection if they find it to be out?

A major service usually includes fan belt adjustment.. but best to ask them to include it and if it will be added to quote.

I could recommend an independant garage in Centurion if you are interested. We had my wife's Polo serviced there, and it went quite well. I did not feel violated afterwards, is what I mean with "quite well".

My wife's car's clutch had to be replaced and the most reasonable quote was through Bosch in Silver Lakes - about 20% cheaper than any other and the service we got there was great, full clutch replacement and a full service including brakes etc was done. The car performed like new once returned.

Here is another old thread about Car Service City.

Seems like it is not just the Centurion branch of Car Service City...
