MS Office brought to tablet PCs

It is in MS's best interest to sell Office for as many platforms as possible, incl. iOS and Android. It's been running on Mac for ages. Exactly what my tablet needs ... real Office.

Running Office 365 Preview on Win8 release preview as I'm typing this.
Impressed, to say the least.

For all those who are going to ditch their Android devices/tablets, I'll take them all, no questions asked.
:D

“Office responds to touch as naturally as it does to keyboard and mouse,” Microsoft said in the press statement that announced the availability of a customer preview of the new software.

I say nay to this, it's bad enough that I have to touch Microsoft Office 2010 and those disgusting ribbons with the go-between mouse, the last thing I want on my Android tablet is anything Microsoft and certainly not bandwidth hungry Microsoft Office 365 apps. I do think the door closing logo is appropriate, that will be me on the other side pushing to keep Microsoft out.

@jan, who is this Braun person?

Frankly, I have never seen an actual need for me to buy a tablet until Win8 was announced. I had many discussions with friends about this and the conclusion that I came to is that current tablets are glorified R5,000 - R10,000 toys.

Office on tablet makes the decision to have a tablet more a need than a want.

As for the door logo - that door is opening. The next Win version is going to have a bright light beaming out of it so that even those in the dark can see it too.

You say opening, I say closing, and as for the light - it is not coming from Microsoft.

However, back to the subject of expensive things, how much money have people spent on Microsoft Office versions over the years only to end up getting the newer version of it and finding it even more difficult than ever before to get anything done in a reasonable amount of time? Microsoft appears to be on a mission to frustrate its customers.

Every new version of Microsoft Office should come with free in person and onsite training per licence purchased.
