Is telkom blocking torrent trackers / soulseek?

- I can't connect to any trackers on uTorrent, despite the fact that it was working a couple days ago. After about a minute of trying to connect, the download bars become red and nothing gets downloaded/uploaded.
- I can't log on to soulseek nor can I go onto their website (it's not down, I checked). I just keep getting the "Login failed" prompt, something which never happens to me.
- Everything else is working fine for me, except for a slower-than-usual connection

I've got a feeling that the two problems above are related and that telkom's behind it. Is anyone else affected by this? What can I do about it?
 
Hmm strange u mention that, i left soulseek running a week ago and it was fine at night, but during the day it doesn't connect at all.
 
Had exactly the same problem before mine stopped working altogether! However, I never got a "login failed" prompt before, the program just left me hanging.
 
I'm getting a shyte speeds, but it is connected...

EDIT: Actually not to bad, hitting 20kb/s, maybe they are throttling during the day?
 
I'm convinced they are blocking/throttling during the day. I cant download with Transmission and uTorrent. Get error messages on Transmission and red bars on uTorrent. At night around 10-11 it starts working normally again but this is really messing with my seeding and ratio on the sites.
 
start using usenet , its faster and you can bypass shaping :P (telkom does not care how much you use on there accounts)
 
I'd recommend avoiding torrents and just using HTTP downloads, They wil ALWAYS run at your full ADSL line speed... ALWAYS!

What? Never, A well seeded torrents gives full line speed.

Okay, things are working fine for me now (as far as I know). I just wish telkom would stop ****ing around with my connection.
 
Been like that for a few days now, could be just the changes Telkom are making for their speed upgrades?
 
Can't access TPB, torrents only started working late last night...
Fusk you Telkom, I think its time I moved to Afrihost.
 
I am also a TelkomInternet user, my torrents don't download. It just shows a green tick and no downloading. It says the bottom "1 Nodes (Login)" and stands there.

Same here but I have the orange Warning sign.
 
right... so I dont use torrents at all but last night I needed a torrent downloaded. I have always used utorrent, its by far the best.

I gave myself a static IP, setup my port-forward on my router, did all the settings on utorrent. tested the open port, and all was working. did a quick bandwidth check and was getting around 950k/sec on NNTP and HTTP using FDM.

Started up my torrent and it just sat there staring at me... Said connected, but it wouldnt go above 5k/sec. this was at 11pm. I checked all settings, tried different clients, even restarted the router/ changed static IP and changed ports... nothing. zero. nadda. this was all while I could happily stop and start a full line speed download using NNTP and/or HTTP. oh, and the swarm was HUGE and there were more seeds than one would need for double my connection speed.

so... wtf is going on? this telkom or isp?
 
This started for me a few weeks ago. Generally most trackers fail and so does DHT on any of my telkom accounts. What I do is connect via Afrihost for a minute or so while it populates the seeds and peers, then switch back to the telkom account (without quitting bittorrent).
 
I still can't login to soulseek during the day, even now it won't connect, from about 8 or 9pm it works. Well done telkom :(
 
welll last night i loged in with a capped telkom acc and got 190kb/s+ on torrents 2mbps (line)
