The Pureview is a different level of camera. Unfortunately you wouldn't be seen dead with the phone.

Well nowadays phones are more like a computer....it's becoming more blurred.
now just add a projector on that puppy and i will buy it.
 
Speaking of camera phones, I've realised that the 5MP on the BB Torch isn't as bad as I first though! Yes it's laggy and no options, but the IQ isn't too bad!

I viewed a photo on my Galaxy S3 screen and was quite surprised
 
The basic specs are easy to read but don't give a good sense of the cameras. Normally a subjective test should be included:

Which of the figures shown indicates sensitivity in low light?

One big feature to me is the delay time from pushing the button to taking the shot. I hear that's a weakness of the S3.

My S3 has zero shutter lag. Fastest phone camera I have used. It takes photos instantly. And the quality is excellent.
 
These days there are a lot of great cameraphones to choose from but what's going to influence my buying decision, when I finally move away from blackberry (which shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as cameraphone) are the apps. For me the obvious choice will be the next iphone since I've already spent a small fortune on image processing apps for my iPad. I like what Nokia has done but not enough to ignore the lack of apps.
 
Okay so, who let junior work up a *choke* "article" of this nature while leaving the Xperia S, with a 12MP sensor, out of the mix? I mean does Sony now fall outside of the "Apple’s iPhone 4S, Samsung’s Galaxy S III, HTC’s One X, and Nokia’s 808 PureView are considered the top-of-the-range phones in the photography department." criterion?

If you've got the discipline to always carry a camera around with you then I'd probably agree, but most people don't, including me.
 
This article is headed "which phone has the best camera". Its not about what phone to buy or not buy, or which is the best smartphone with camera. Merely which phone has the best camera. So there have been a few models that have been ignored, that's not good, but more importantly i missed where the journalist actually answered the question of which phone has the best camera. Or did I?
