What are the cheapest tablets to buy?

I would love Mybb to do proper reviews of a couple of these tabs. or even some of the cheaper ones from SA
 
I've played with the level of tablet slightly above this one (the R1500 - R2000 jobs), and their first iterations were poor, but the latest models they're bringing out are getting bloody good.

So I would assume that these tablets are at best average, if you've played on a decent high end tablet.
 
Locally there's the Prestigio 7" Tabs ranging from R1000-2000 and there's the MSI Enjoy 7" Tablet(ICS) for R1500. Would be nice if MyBroadband could review these tablets because they are popping up in quite a few PC shops recently.
 
The only thing with these tabs....and I've had two...is the battery....damn....30 mins lol...
my galaxy can push 7 hours of watching movies...ask my kids down to Durbs...
 
And what about the "slightly" more expensive one's(compared to the one's in this article) from the Chinese as found here.
 
Do you guys know if those prestigio tablets just rebranded chinese tablets? Was thinking of getting one for ebook and emagazine reading.
 
Also when they post CPU specs they would post something like

Amlogic 8726-M6, 1.5GHz, Cortex-A9 dual core; GPU: Mali-400

I'm Assuming its a Amlogic chipset with a Cortex A9 CPU? How do we know how compatible that would be with android apps?
 
Got a friend who owns both the new Ainol and Cube tablets, awesome is a understatement for the price. Those were priced between R2000-R3000 with all other costs included getting them over here in SA. He got those to test applications in development and my other friend who owns a Galaxy tablet is jealous.
