I was able to register on the Vodacom 3G network at home, where there is some Cell-C coverage, but didn't try to establish a data connection.Has anyone managed to establish a connection on the 3G network?
I checked again at home by forcing my phone to 3G only and then setting manual network selection. I can register on Vodacom 2G but not Vodacom 3G.I was able to register on the Vodacom 3G network at home, where there is some Cell-C coverage, but didn't try to establish a data connection.
Where I work, where there is zero Cell-C coverage, I have not been able to register on the Vodacom 3G network and I've tried several times.
I roam on MTN with 8ta and get 70 ms ping and 250 -300 ms to Diablo servers so I dunnoI'll just put this here so long for when the 'switch on' finally happens.

It would be interesting to compare that with what you get on 8ta, but I guess due to the fact you are roaming, you don't have 8ta coverage?I roam on MTN with 8ta and get 70 ms ping and 250 -300 ms to Diablo servers so I dunno![]()

I can tell u this, when 8ta side is working. I get better ping to local servers when roaming with 8Ta on mtn and when I use Mtn I get better ping to EU
I'm currently in a remote part of South Africa that has no Cell C coverage. When I use my Cell C speedstick with a SmartData sim card, I automatically roam on Vodacom's network on Edge. However, I thought Cell C recently signed a deal with Vodacom to roam on their 3G network with immediate effect. Why can't I roam on Vodacom's 3G network?
I forgot to add, there's definitely 3G coverage here, cos my HTC Desire has a Vodacom sim card, and I can connect to 3G on that no problem.
Getting vodacom 3G in the work's basement... works fine for me.
