Cell C to drop voice prices on pre-paid smartdata packages

Okay, to spell out for the people who are little slow (like me :o), does this mean I can have a data contract + prepaid voice @ 99c/min on the same sim?

Cannot find the article, neither is it in your Tech News/Cellular

Correct. Say you have the 2Gb Smartdata package, you can benefit from the 99c/min promotion that the regular contracts provide.
I hope they offer the Galaxy Note 2 on a good data contract.

Scameel will still say VC is cheaper, better etc.

If this is an indication the way things will be moving, expect big things to happen in the industry.

You really don't need a lot of voice (whether free minutes or talktime) on smartphones as you'll be using either skype, im, email or any other form of electronic communication instead, which will require a healthy and robust data bundle and network.

I bought a 99c for Real prepaid voice sim, and then loaded a 3GB for a year R399 bundle onto it.

That works well, can't speak for other permutations.

Note : I couldn't convert a data sim to the 99c for Real offer. Just no way to do this.
