Actually I am surprised that nobody has asked this already, since it is the same phone used during the Vodacom LTE launch. Guess nobody on the board knows or could not be bothered to reply to any question on this topic, since I have posted a similar question elsewhere, but was either totally ignored and received no reply. Please don't tell me the members of this board still believes in the caveman way of thinking where post count matters.

Then again, this is SA after all. and :wtf:

this is great as I want this phone ... I find the note 2 a bit too big .. so this would be perfect for my upgrade next month .. really hope all the providers have this available soon

super keen to see when this comes out, also due for upgrade in the next month, so this should work out nicely.. :D

Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE will be released in SA

anybody got any clue if this is even going to be released here??
cellc rep??

Hi, according to the MyBB news, it will definitely be coming to South Africa. Please see this article -> LTE-AND-4G-in-South-Africa

Just very unfortunate that the cellular providers (and Samsung SA) want to first sell as many of their current stock of the Samsung Galaxy S3 version without LTE before they will let anyone else in on the big secret of the release date for the LTE enabled Samsung Galaxy S3.

Guess it's just too bad for them that some of their customers have already decided to wait until this new version of the phone is released before purchasing any new Android phone. I feel almost guilty for having started this thread. Guess the wait for this phone's release might be over just before end of December 2012, if SA don't delay this release deliberately.

would be great if fnb beat the operators to the punch and launch the phone before them :)
then I would def get it and can just go with cell c for provider

Well November is the ETA, but i doubt it'll be here so soon, December might be more realistic. Heard news from someone in VC that they are currently preparing to launch the iPhone 5 so i guess thats taking precedence atm..

guess if voda is the one to launch with it and the only 1 with the S3 LTE when I need to renew my contract in 2 months ... then I guess its voda that I will have to go with

Been using the LTE S3 for the last 2 weeks and so far am quite impressed.

Saterday got 18Mb/s in Sandton City (SISO) and Saterday night got 60Mb/s in Midrand on a MIMO site.

I agree, if vodacom is first to launch it then why not? :)

Gr8! Looking forward to purchase one for myself. Thanks for the feedback!:)

Prepaid prices?

Well, I believe that the phone has arrived at vodacom, (Samsung-Galaxy-S3-LTE-and-Note-2-LTE-prices-in-SA) but what is the actual price of the phone?

Only the contract prices are out. I will anyway be buying the normal Galaxy S3 as I believe the device will anyway be out of my price range as vodacom's current price for the Galaxy S3 from their stores are R8,200 to R8,500. Go figure.

Just hope this thread has created an awareness from prospective South African buyers for this device as it would really be great to have LTE and extra RAM, although the lack of built-in radio might be an issue for some as well as the fact that the battery for the LTE enabled phone might run down much quicker than the non-LTE phone. :p

no radio .... hmm ... might have to reconsider this decision !!
would not be a problem if there are nice apps out there that will not eat huge bandwidth or if we had cheaper/uncapped bandwidth :)

We have already have HSDPA+. I don't see the need in the next 2 years for LTE on a cellphone. I understand for a PC or somewhere where latency is important LTE is a +1 but for your phone? It seems abit unnecessary. :D
