Slow Windows 8 App Store

Hi, I installed Windows 8 this past weekend but the app store seems to be slow ever since... By chance I've only managed to download the DSTV app so far which took me 10 mins to download, which is a 104kb file after trying over 20 times.
I am getting full line speed to websites using both Firefox and IE. I'm on mweb 1 meg uncapped, would it be possible that mweb is restricting speeds to the Windows app store? :confused:

Anyone else having similar experiences? :confused:
 
i am running the app store with no issues and no slow speeds, 1mb line (afrihost). there has been people saying they have experienced some windows service hogging there bandwidth.
 
my Task Manager Wifi performance graph is shows 0kbps sent with the odd spike to upto 8kbps, but there's nothing that's unusual sending and receiving to stop the app store from downloading files that are mostly under 500kb in size.
