Ethernet standards needed in South Africa: MEF

lol it is true that Telkom has a great network infrastructure, but what is lacking is competitive edge and proper utilization of this network. That's why it appears laughable when he mentions this fact.
 
Telkom's network does have more potential than is being realized, that is why the Koreans wanted in on it. They're basically sitting on what is still a monopoly fixed line infrastructure for the biggest African economy and can't run it properly ... Telkom is managed badly.
 

Telkom have an absolutely fantastic network, you forget that the consumer ADSL last mile side is only one little part of their overall network and the part that is not really looked after. The ME monitoring is a slight concern, but before we judge perhaps some journos could do their job and get some details around this.
