Using CellC sim card on 8ta modem/dongle.

I have a cellc data contract, but coverage in my area is bad. 8ta coverage is good though. So im wondering if I use a cellc sim on an 8ta modem, does it use the CellC network for coverage or the 8ta network?
 
SIM will use its own network, no matter what device. However 8ta modem might be incompatibe with Cell C frequencies, it will connect on EDGE only. And EDGE on Cell C is slow. Check your modem specs or post here if not sure.
