Prepaid prices: Vodacom vs Cell C vs MTN vs Telkom Mobile

The 75 cents to other networks is great, but on-net R0.29 that's R17.40 an hour and vodacom R5. Excludes the crap network in my area.
A fail.

seriously good rates! well done telkom mobile

Remind me again why I pay R2.60 off-net on contract. Actually, remind me again why we have contracts.

So you can pay your phone over a 24 month period, at a sometimes subsidised rate, while the cellular providers hope you make more calls they can charge you on so they can make a profit.

That price for Cell C is wrong. They do 0.15 per megabyte. Come on guys, get the facts straight. (prepaid, contract, whatever - still 0.15)

Also, are the airtime prices per second billing? That's kind of an extremely important detail people!

Still, at least Telkom Mobile are doing more than Voda & MTN

It's amazing that a Vodacom Smart Small contract is R199 per month without a phone. You get 75 minutes. That works out to R2.65 per minute. How can anyone consider paying such a huge amount of money for such a poor deal? Because pre-paid is less than half that! Unless I am missing something there.

Only if you buy a data bundleof some kind ;) Otherwise its 99c/mb.

Good one for 8ta / Telkom Mobile, we all know that your network is largely unused because of fewer customers hope this will assist you in getting more numbers on your network

Can't believe I am saying this, but credit where it's due: Well Done Telkom Mobile!
Now let's see if CellC is brave enough to follow (cos everyone knows that emptyN and VoodooCon won't do jack sh*t and the sheep will continue to stick with them anyway)
That being said, CellC coverage needs some serious attention... How's TelkomMobile with their coverage and dropped calls and stuff?

Yip.
What does off-net and on-net mean?
on net = a call to anyone on your own network (Voodoo-to-Voodoo, empty-to-empty)
off net = a call to anyone not on your network (Voodoo-to-empty, empty-to-Voodoo)

Telkom mobile with good rates ther, MTN is the crapiest of the crap, very soon i might change, ;)

only on Telkom network, no roaming on other networks where the coverage is bad/none. Good rates if you can use it.
expand the network, and it will push the other networks to lower costs too? good move for consumers
