Sign up with the link above and you can test drive the service for 1 week completely free, all premium channels included.

Works well on a 4mb line with no buffering.
There is also an instant tv guide to show what is on the channel.

You can test BBC One channel for free.

There is also more than 32 Norwegian, Swedish & Danish channels in a separate package for the same price.

Thought to post this for people interested in the sports channels and the free channels you can watch.
Hope someone finds it useful.

You can get most of the sport channels free if you search. Also not HD, but at 1Mb/s I'm not picky. :)

Free Channels(No charge)

After your 2 week trial you can still access the above channels for free.
Which one provides those channels for free? NTV or OffsideStreams?

Does any of the two provide an rtsp, rsp or udp playlist for their channels?

The NTV has the free channels.
It's actually a new service, similar to Futubox but works better on slower connections. It is a bit expensive but they are adding new channels and features and you might be able to buy seperate packages in the future.
They are currently working on implementing a PVR service.

Both of the services have XBMC plugins, so you can watch the channels on Android, Apple, Raspberry Pi, Linux, or Windows devices. You can buy a cheap android media player and hook it up to your HDTV and use it as a replacement for DSTV.

If you want to watch more free channels, you might give Filmon a go.
It has lots of adventure sports, music video, news & lifestyle channels that you can watch for free. It doesn't have premium channels though. It also has a paid subscription option were you can get a DVR service and a couple of extra 'strange' channels. It also has a plugin for XBMC.

Hm, if i look at the lack of any support on Offsidestreams.com and the lack of any secure payment options, I'm not sure if I should sign up with them...

Edit: And the license for their Zendesk support plattform has also expired. Scam site?

NTV definitely has a nice list of channels there. TLC for the SO is a win, too. However the price is a little steep. :(

I just signed up for OffsideStream and from first glance it is amazing! So many sport channels including Sky Sports 1-4 so that is soccer sorted for me! There are many other sport channels aswell - busy watching some baseball.

So far so good. Also streams run very smoothly and start after 1-3 seconds. The XBMC plug-in also works really well. All this for 4pounds is a fantastic deal.

Not a scam site as far as I can see. Just registered and paid. Got sent my confirmation immediately and all streams are working perfectly!

I think I may just look into NTV some more. Their XBMC plugin will make things really easy and setup a less of a hassle. Also it offers a lot of channels I would watch, too.

Will check the trial out and in two weeks time make my decision then. Thanks for sharing!

But how I get hold of them and support when their own support platform isn't working anymore? Couldn't find any contact infos so far...

Yeah also can't find any contact info but not to worried about it to be honest. All that matters is I get what I paid for and so far this is the case. As mentioned the channels work great and stream really smoothly and all for 4 pounds!

Do you know if they provide m3u playlists with rtsp, rtp or udp streams?

I dont think so. I just signed up as well and they only have an XBMC plugin. You will not find this plugin on their site though. you have to go to xbmchub.com on the forums section to get the plugin.

No, because people previously stole their streams and posted the m3u playlists on the internet, those persons' ip's got banned.
The streams now work with tokens for increased security and are linked to your ip.

The streams work with a xbmc plugin and almost all mobile devices now run xbmc, except for smart tv's I can think of.

UPDATE: NTV Price has been reduced to E14.49 p/m, +- R190.41 p/m
Offsidestreams: New channel lineup - NBC Sports, Fox Sports 1 and ESPN1

Hm, wouldn't RTSP with digest authentication do the trick there? Every login could be tied to a unique login/pass combination and an account could be automatically banned when it is used simultaneously by two different accounts.

I'm just asking because RTSP, RTP or UDP support would make streaming services compatible with DVBLogic's IPTV server LINK which runs on Windows and can than stream to basically every platform or media center client without the need to build or maintain dedicated plugins for everything.
