Alternative Cryptocurrencies (General Discussion & Trading)

From what I read on the BitcoinTalk forum, the 'POW' of Electronium miner on mobile is not going to be a real miner, it will not generate blocks etc., some are saying it is thus just a gimmick. If the investment market is however keen to invest then I am keen to take some profit :)

I was under the impression mobile was simply a way to introduce people to the idea of mining and crypto and will hand out a few tokens to them for doing nothing basically. They can then get the desktop client and mine proper.

But yeah - if this gets the kind of mainstream adoption the mobile market can bring it might just be huge. Tempted to just avoid looking at the price for 6 months.

My first time needing to send an ERC20 token from an exchange to a private wallet.
Do I also need some ETH on my exchange account to cover gas?

Yes. Just check how much you need nowadays, it changed some time ago.

Which exchange?! read their fees structure!

this is etherdelta:
Thanks. Figured it was a flat rate. It's hitBTC - will check it out and see. Maybe best to leave some ETH in there then.

Also...nice way to end the week:
TKR doing well. The advantage of buying low when the markets are dumping :).

which/how many exchanges do you use? some of those that you mentioned are only on limited exchanges like Cryptopia
Bittrex, hitbtc, binance, coinexchange & cryptopia. Yeah it's more than I'd like, but those smaller exchanges allow you to get in early on a coin before they hit the bigger exchanges and the price goes up. Smaller sites with less volume (like cryptopia) are nice for picking up newer coins for long-term holds, the larger sites (bittrex) are nice for trading.

Thanks.

Will look it to those.

Cool - happy trading :). Just remember it's also easy to lose money - I tend to post screenshots of things that are doing really well, but I've also got coins that are down 15 - 40%. Use the stop-loss options on the exchanges to limit your losses for those coins you have no real interest in holding but you're just trading.

Almost 100 new coins registered on conimarketcap the last 30 days, more than 3 coins on average coming into existence per day. Granted some are tokens to run on ethereum or other blockchains and thus fulfilling a specific need in the real world, and some new technologies and concepts that could improve blockchain, trading or other aspect.

Survival is going to depend not only on something either cutting edge, or having real-world application and market but also the drive of the team to market beyond the crypto world and facilitating adoption.

How the heck does a coin get a market cap of over $700 mil within 20 days? Or does this have nothing to do with inception date?

Cardano ? I see it is based in Switzerland. Could it make sense that they had big private (non-ICO) investors or something to that effect ?

I missed out on NEO at a low yesterday, I'm hoping it goes back there before the fork, my BTC is waiting on Bittrex ready to buy, I could care less about BTC gold, any other coins/tokens that are worth buying at the moment?

wonder if this btc gold is just a big scam. what ive read it doesn't sound on the up and up...
