Looking for an ADSL connection, what is the most affordable option currently?

I currently have capped wireless, and it simply does not work out for me considering I am a gamer and like to download and stream. I understand the method of having an ADSL account provider, like Afrihost or MWEB, but what are the costs on Telkom's side? I heard you need a voice line rental AND adsl line rental. Any suggestions on what Telkom package to take?

(Cheapest possible Telkom package, the voice line does not matter to me. The ADSL is the most important. 1mbps is more than fine for me, if it still exists?)

1mbps has been taken out permanently so you will have to take a 2mb which I believe is R239pm. Uncapped and unshaped which is great but they have their troubles from time-to-time. The Telkom issue of the month is latency and as always, absolutely no feedback.

If not reliant on much data during the day, then get your ADSL line through Telkom & consider signing up for these - you won't get cheaper for off-peak ; I get full line speeds & more (downloads) on 2Mbps line & the billing is 100% accurate now that Vox took it over from @lantic ; the data usage figures are also accurate, considering there's a cut-off each day @ 6pm / 6am.

ADSL Gig4Gig - select the "Home" option (for use between 6am - 6pm ; 1st GB free each month; thereafter R15/GB up to 10GB I think, but that might've changed since Vox took it over.)

I don't have any work affiliation with Vox - simply very happy with the way it's turned out
(early days were a bit of a billing nightmare, but all is well now).
