SickBeard/SABnzbd "encryption detected" fails

I'm starting to get alot of "encyption detected" failed DLs recently on SABnzbd.

My setup is:
1. SickBeard (502) with the following proveders: SickBeard Index, Womble Index, NZBid, NZB-SA
2. SABnzbd (0.7.16) with a free xsusenet account and the Afrihost news server configured.

When I set the config to pause rather than fail the DL, then i resume it and let it finish, the archive wants a password to deflate.

Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Let me guess, the files you specifically getting this issue are being grabbed from NZBSA, because of DMCA take downs, a lot of the files upped to NZBSA has a Password added, if you take a look at the NFO file of the download, it should most likely all be the same password, there is a guide on the NZBSA site showing you how to add generic passwords to your SABNZB downloader to put those passwords in once your download is completed, however, if you have downloads now, that have been completed but you cannot get them because of the password, then i suggest you get something like winrar to extract the files, it will ask you for the password, you insert the password, and your file will be sorted.

But, if the files you downloading have passwords different to these, and you getting them from somewhere else, other than NZBSA, chances are the content you getting is fake, and the file will contain a notepad saying "For the password to this file visit this site [insert malicious/virus infested url here]
 
Also, check for updates on your Sickbeard, if im not mistaken, Version 503/4 is available already.

Ok, I've now removed other search providers and only left NZB-SA as a start.
So you're saying I should let it finish DL'ing, then check the archive for an NFO file, right?
Is there a way to check the NFO upfront?
I can't seem to find something like an "nzb properties" link on SABnzbd to check what's in there ... maybe I'm just blind.

You can add a default password list file to SABNZBD. Google/search/whatever for it. One password solved it all for me.
 
you add the text file to the config in sabnzb and waaaalaaa no more failed downloads. assuming you did set the encrypted file option to download the complete file.

Testing now ... 30mins til I know if it works

Manually trying to use the pw works fine, but SABnzbd doesn't like my text file (I created it using Notepad)

You shouldnt have the z Before Password, afaik the SABNZB is looking for a file called "Password" and only that.
 
Stupidest thing: Windows was set to hide file extensions, so when I created a new text file and named it pw.txt, it was actually pw.txt.txt
Fixed now, and working perfectly.

I also noticed some password protected files which sabnzbd did not pick up. Is the password file a generic one or one that you have to create? If its generic where can I find such a file?

You create it with the password inside. password.txt

Further instructions earlier in thread.
 
NZBSA states that you should find the password within an nfo file.. I can't seem to find one anywhere. Or am I looking in the wrong place?
