Are anyone else experiencing problems with accessing banks with 8ta?

The past 2 weeks, randomly on a daily basis, I have started experiencing problems accessing banking websites via 8ta. Often once, but more than once on most days I suddenly cannot access any bank. This keeps going for hours on end, but suddenly I can access the site again.

This is the message I keep getting from Chrome & IE:

All other websites work fine. It is only banks.

I suspect it is DNS issues. But, I am concerned about the number of times this happens every day.

Something wrong with FNB....again. :p

I've tested Standard Bank online banking now, works lightning fast and with no problems. ;)

Doubt it's an FNB issue, I can get on the website (using ADSL), so it is most likely an 8ta issue.

It seems to be dependent on which IP address you get from 8ta. All the 41.n.n.n.n addresses appear to work, but 154.69.13.85 gave me problems.

Just restart the connection until you're off the 154 network.

Back in the day had an issue to access add-ons page Mozillia FireFox, would automatically time out!

House - have you managed to access FNB Banking website ?

Hey Richard, yes, I did after disconnecting and reconnecting a few times. However, this happens every day, it is just a mess to connect and reconnect a couple of times a day.

i have notice the same problem with the 154 ip address can't seems to connect to IS network.

Noticed the exact same on a contract sim connection used purely for web browsing and to date it's an ongoing problem, multiple sites are inaccessible only when on that specific ip range, somewhere there's a borked routing table or maybe it's from all the Huawei equipment establishing a local version of the Great Firewall of China? :p

Having the same problem! Grrrrhhh!!

Not my router though (Huawei B593), my MTN sim works fine in my router. Put my TM simcard in my iPad and same problem.

Telkom Mobile - help... Please?

Had the same problem yesterday, could not for the life of me get on to FNB or mybroadband. Eventually took my Vodacom sim which worked 100%

Same here. Could not access any of the uct.ac.za websites. When I checked the ip, it was either 197. something or 154. something. After a few manual reconnections the ip changed to 41. something and I was able to connect.

Telkom mobile please fix your network.
