Huge F***up at FNB

So, not breaking news yet, but it appears that a system error at FNB caused debit orders to go off twice this morning.

Those who paid accounts paid twice. Those who got money, as example from SARS, were paid twice...
 
I've also been burnt to the tune of R1900. Nice one FNB.

Lost 11k yesterday due to normal debit orders and yet another 11k this morning due to the fu**uo at hand. Wonder when the siht will be reversed and hopefully their banking fees associated with it as well. Wanted to fly to durbs for tonight and tomorrow but are now fukced....

Bigger fukcup is the fact that 7 clients had debit order gone off yesterday. Guess what, I got paid their money again today....
 
I noticed their online banking site is not available. http 404 error.
Probably trying to fix this mess.

If you have money in your account they should… but to be safe you might want to make sure there's twice as much in there as you want to spend. :o

Luckily I was able to withdraw 10k at an ATM in 3 parts before the siht hits the fan. Even if cards don't work I will at least be settled for a day or two.

You know what, worst of all, and I just mentioned it in another post - All double debits and credits did not activate the InContact alerts. I only found out about this when I was informed by someone else and logged into my account and saw the missing as well as new money.

I remember when this happened with standard bank years ago. It wasn't everybody that was affected. Years later I got to hear that an operator had run the same transactional tapes twice and subsequently got fired. That's not how things work now but rest assured that any charges associated with the issue will be rectified.
 
I wondered what was going on when my account showed r3k more than it should have this morning.
 
I transferred R10k from my cheque account to savings account last night. I see my savings account is reflecting the new amount but the cheque account hasn't been debited.

Hope they leave that one :D
 
will transfer some money from my savings i might be rich soon haha

ffs says cant transfer money atm :(
 
Went to the ATM, all accounts show zero balance, people quite upset. I'm going to make a scene on Monday due to valid reasons when it comes to making payments.
 
I unsuccessfully tried to transfer some money to the same account twice.. Hope they don't process both now.
And the idjit I spoke to in their call centre wasn't very friendly.
