Hi guys,

I'm experimenting with my own Netflix proxy as an alternative to Unotelly etc.

I'm going to start off with support for items that are SNI friendly (Apple TV / iOS / PC's / possibly some media players).

I'll then branch out and add non-SNI friendly devices (PS3 / XBOX / some media players).

What I'd like are people who could assist me with testing along the way.

If you could list your device that supports Netflix / if you'd be willing to take part in a trial to confirm whether the proxy works or not, that would be great.

Looking to just get numbers for now and possibly make some headway on this, this weekend.

---
Test IP for now:
----
154.127.60.71

Simply set that as your DNS server and off you go.

Will only work for SNI devices like Roku, iOS, Browsers and any new devices that do SNI for the DNS handshake.

Any old stuff for NON-SNI is a no go unless I get some funding as I need to purchase 20-30 IP's to get it to work...

-----
SUPPORTED DEVICES (confirmed as working by myself or testers):
-----

Roku 3
iOS devices
Apple TV
Samsung TV
Browsers

+1 i have a number of users on my home network that would love better netflix access

How much bandwidth do you have at your disposal?

What are the requirements?I have a PC smart TV and ADSL.

Same here, PC, Smart TV, Xbox and Chromecast. Possibly rasplex/raspbmc

What is the purpose for this? you going to distribute this service to the whole of south africa?

Subscribing to this thread to keep track on progress :).

Also count me in, Win7 using the web browser. :)

I don't see this being TOO bandwidth HEAVY. Realistically the only thing you're doing is letting the GEO IP restriction know that you're in the US.

All Netflix streaming / actual content comes down via the CDN (which doesn't have any GEO IP restrictions). So basically you auth via my DNS, then all bandwidth after that is at your cost etc as you go direct.

I'd like to start off as a free proxy service, give something back to the community that helped start my career in IT (mybb) and then who knows... right now its the challenge of seeing if it can be done and to give back, after that - we'll see...

hmmm. Would be interesting to see. My understanding was that "dns" services like this actually redirect all a domain's traffic to a proxy...

You can count me in as well. Worth a shot if you're cheaper than Unotelly :p

Using: PC, PS3 and Ipad.
