Testers Wanted - Netflix DNS Proxy

Hi guys,

Just a quick update.

I've tested on the following devices at home, and these are working:

PC / Mac Browsers
Roku 3
iPhone 5
iPAD 3

Items i'm having issues with:

Android TV (so possibly all Android devices - I don't have one to test though).
Xbox
Ps3

I'll be grabbing some devices from work colleagues and seeing if I can expand on that list - once i'm happy that most of them work i'll look at letting out a public IP that i've secured etc...

Looks good, I'm on board.

Xbox360, PS3, Chromecast, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 and a HTPC running PLEX.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay. I believe i've got the SNI devices functioning 100%.

It's the non SNI that requires some work.

I'll play around further today and see what I can do.

I would like to help test. All Mac house, 2 appletv's, iphones, ipads, macs etc.

Hmmm.

I can get the non-sni working but I need a large amount of publicly accessible ip's to do so (+-20-30) which would cost me $20-$30 per month at the very least... Since i'm able to create my own ip space in my LAN this isn't an issue when I do DNAT. However if I wanted to host it externally and allow it to be open to the world it would cost me a bit.

How many of you make use of non-sni?

This would be PS3 / XBOX / WDTV and some Samsung TV's I think.

Maybe I should request a poll.

Hi guys,

I'm going to open up some access for SNI devices either today or tomorrow.

However, some common items to consider:

Please don't try and DOS my box or do DNS attacks etc - i'm trying to do a nice thing and if it becomes work i'll simply take it down.

I will limit access to SA IP's only, hopefully this stops a lot of the nonsense.

Devices that should work:

iOS
Roku
Browser
Anything that does SNI and isn't OLD :D

To add non-SNI support e.g. PS3 / XBOX i'd be looking at spending around R1000+ per year on infrastructure - if people want it and are willing to donate a little then I don't mind setting that up etc.

I'll comment later with a testing IP (as soon as my host has enabled some functionality that we'll need.)

Cheers,
