Muizenberg shark attack.

We humans forget that once in a while the abyss bites back ..

The guy is ok. It wasn't a serious bite which is insanely rare for a great white. I won't surf Muizenburg. I get way too nervous chilling in the water waiting for a wave there. Even if it's only a one in a million chance.

CAPE TOWN - The victim of a shark attack at Muizenberg beach on Friday afternoon has been airlifted to hospital and is in a stable condition.

National Sea Rescue Institute’s Craig Lambinon says “The emergency services were activated to Muizenberg beach just in front of the pavilion where a 20-year-old man from Newlands, originally from Durban, was bitten on the legs by a shark.”

The victim man had multiple lacerations to his lower limbs (some of which are deep lacerations) and an avulsion to the left thigh.
A member of the public begun first aid treatment on the scene prior to the arrival of paramedics.

At the time of the incident shark spotters were flying the black shark flag and a bystander approached them to say they had seen a shark fin in the water.
The incident took place when the shark siren was in the process of being activated.

Based on eyewitness accounts it's believes a great white shark bit the man.

Shark Spotters and law enforcement officers have closed Muizenberg Beach.

2 thumbs up to whoever this is. Always a great idea to get to know first aid, never know when it might come in handy.

Guy was taken to Vincent Po in Pinelands, sure he will be fine.
I won't know though but joh... Sharks eh...

They're not so bad :)

I love spending time with them, but I'd also be wary to float topside for prolonged periods.
