Google balloons take flight over South Africa

Awesome! Can't wait for the proof of concept to be successful. If this means more accessible connectivity across South Africa then we should all be excited! :D

Capanina - that was the brand/company I recall hearing about originally... wonder if Google purchased anything from them, or if they just did their own thing...
 
Big thanks to Google for this generous initiative. I don't know if the greater African populace deserves it though - there is always a "give me a handout" attitude that is prevalent in Africa, and I'm not sure it will get the appreciation in justly deserves.

The handout attitude is there because of social justice warriors in Scandinavian countries mostly and some idiots in the US trying to win votes or show their support for blacks, but not at their own expense. Maybe if countries like Norway and Sweden actually sent real money over instead of making whites in SA as exploiters and blacks as poor, destroyed, oppressed souls, things would be better.

I also don't see Oprah doing much anymore for local SA. Why not build another school for black girls in SA?
 
Why should she, maybe she has identified a greater need elsewhere in the world.

It was cruising over Pe and Durban a few weeks ago at 65000 feet. Should have gotten our cameras out...
