OpenWeb has announced its new Home Uncapped Plus

It's a slightly different concept than Afrihost Plus, but also on the expensive side for what you get ? :mad:

OW uses IS.
IS is unshaped after hours.
Pointless to make an account that's prioritized after 19:00 when the network is unshaped at that time anyway.
Just another product from SpinDoctor Keoma

Wouldn't use OW if they gave me the account for FREE!

Its now become my life commitment to troll all OW threads. I feel its my civic duty to ensure no one else falls for any of their BS ads or cons again. I'm watching you Keoma, like a hawk pkaaaaaa
 
I had a test openweb account years ago. I still get sms spam from them every week, there is no easy reply STOP to opt out. I've mailed them about 10 times asking to please remove my no, but nothing. anybody know how to get rid of them?

I am considering trying out this Home Openshaped Plus package, where do I send my credit card details to?
 
My OW account is now canceled and I'm on Telkom Uncapped. I feel free again!

They were good in the beginning, but went down the tubes about 6 months ago.
(You always had good speed on OW Gold during the day on steam/youtube at least, and then full speed for everything including usenet after 5/6pm... then it went to 8, then 10, then after 12pm only.)

As for their home uncapped - useless during the day. (and even the night, actually - only usable between 00:00 and 07:00)

I'm sorry OW, you guys had it, but then fell off the bus I'm afraid.
such a pity.

I was an Openweb client for a while and my account usually performed better than expected. The "shaping" profile essentiall came into effect at 08.00 and was removed by 17.00. Normal browsing was fine during working hours and every now and then when I had a problem I got a new account, which worked perfectly.

I wasn't too phased by the account sharing "scandal" because my account was fine.

In the last few months however the shaping profile has changed considerably. Accounts are shaped and the shaping only removed at midnight to 06/07.00. Shaping is no more applied only when the network is busy, but rather consistently on time.

I have a Telkom bundled account with my line ... which performs pretty much the same way, unshaped uncapped from midnight to 07.00.

Openweb have lost their shine, and anyone who falls for the difference between accounts will be sadly mistaken.
