Hey guys, I'm a student looking for a relatively cheap and portable laptop/tablet hybrid or a tablet with a keyboard. The specs of this tablet are appealing besides the apparent lack of USB, and I can just fit the price into my budget. However, it seems impossible to find any substantial reviews on proline products. Has anyone here purchased this tablet? A list of pros and cons would be very helpful.

Thanks

i am also looking at getting this

but one thing i know with that small screen and high res
when u work on the interent and want to clock something, probaly will have to zoom in to click links and to read things, and that will get irritating

but it looks like a nice tablet esp for the price

I'd love to know about the keyboard quality and Battery life :/

hi,dont know if ur still intrested but i got mine today

gonna play around wiht it

but what i can say it boot dam fast
screen looks great,

the keyboard will come in a few day

but looks and feel nice
not heavy but also not light (cheap)
the metal sides and back is hard plastic that looks like brussed alli and it feels nice
not cheap cheap, but for the price it feels great

After a week with it, how has it been? I broke my Note 8 on Saturday, so am looking at getting this. The SO has the 10.1 Nextbook which is cool as well, but I'm leaning towards this as it's a bit smaller, with more RAM and GPS for my work.

I also noticed that the Kalahari one is a bit cheaper than the Takealot one, which seems to be because the Takealot one is bundled with the keyboard. The Kalahari one says the keyboard is not included, though the reviews say it is included. Where did you buy yours?

at computermaina for 2.5k with out keyboard

i like it,

only thing u need to change is the text scaleing from 150% to 100% makes text look alot better

battery life is quite good
only thing i dont really like is it got some backlight bleeding
and 32gb is not alot

but i am happy with it havent seen any lag
useing few apps at the sametime

hypertube+Ie+skype+deskop

all works smooth

the a933 got the 35F cpu that got 10gbps ram
the 35G only got 5gbps

i saw hifi cop got the t100 that have a better cpu, with keyboard for 4k
but the t100 feels cheap and plastic and got a lower res

display name on the proline is "digital flat panle 640x480" but recommended is 1920x1200
makes me wonder but cant see any pixels

but for 2.5k its worth it
really impressed how well the cpu holds up

Good to hear about the battery life, not really concerned as am always near power. 32GB is fine, won't be installing any apps anyway besides VLC. Everything else is on OneDrive, so am excited to finally have laptop + tablet + phone tied together with my MS account.

Is the backlight bleeding only noticeable when watching stuff?

well normal work no,just when the screen is full black u can see it but watched movies/youtube and cant see it then ,so its not bad,but just something worth mentioning

big plus is,its not heavy at all and very easy to hold

Sounds good, went to check it out at Computer Mania during lunch, definitely very nice to hold. Will be ordering Takealot bundle this afternoon, thanks for the input

That is a very good price. Wow.

Is the screen really what they claim it is? 1920 x 1200 IPS? Hectic.

What are the viewing angles like?

well seems more like a TN or lcd screen to me (im not well known with screens etc so dont even less about touch screens) im more a hardware person(cpu ram etc) but its not as smooth and black as i seen on led screens etc but that may just be my personal view

as its not that deep black and the display name that makes me wondered
if its not a upscaled display to replicate 1200p

like nividia's DSR

but in the end it the user likes how it looks its all that matters, and i am ok with it
will be nice if it had blacker and smooter colors but for the price we cant complain

but how ever u look at it its a good price, and preforms well and cant see any pixels so thats good
so its probaly real 1200p

Also have an eye on these, do they run full windows 8.1 or the RT version?
Full app support? Will it suffice for development purposes?

Excellent, I see the kalahari offer does not include keyboard dock.
The hobby kind... Android + Arduino dev

how about a full size laptop?

with your things open,tabs programs
more ram will be nice, and maby a faster cpu

but wont come near the price of what i can get with this one

dont really know how demanding dev is but, 2gb ram is not alot if u want to do more than just light work and things

whats your buget?

This seems perfect as I can do some light work on the couch while the wifey is watching tv. It's not suppose to replace a laptop which is heavy and gets really hot on the lap, hopefully this tablet does not have too many issues getting hot.

no dont get hot,but when u use it and charge at the same time gets quite hot
but most things get hot when you do it

i replaced a full size laptop with this, and very happy, dont regret it :)

Hey thanks sybertiger for the responses, very helpful. You said the battery life was quite good, how many hours of continuous use does it last for (Using word / light browsing)?

Also if anyone has used the keyboard that comes with the bundle, please give your thoughts!

i didnt get the keyboard as i cant adjust it stuck at one viewing angle

for battery life i used it for quite a few hours, youtube etc
when its fully charged,i will time it and see how fast it drop in like eg 1h of youtube, brouser etc

wiht the percentage drop ,can work out what the worse case will be (full load till its dead)
but will most ppl wont do heavy use for the whole 100%

but last time,i gotten a day out of it wiht normal use

gonna do youtube, play hill climb, have my browser and skype open
what els should i open to keep it realistic for you?

I'm mostly just going to be using for taking notes in lectures / viewing power point presentations and light browsing while at uni, so realistically all I need is about 4 hours of solid use. It sounds like it can handle far more than that which is awesome. Thanks again :)
