Best and worst ADSL ISPs in South Africa

Perfect timing.

I'm about to give Telkom the boot as soon as they transfer my line to the new address.
 
Well Telkom exceeded 30% so bonuses for all senior management.

Was their a competition for this survey? Unless the data was validated, the multitude of phantoms who sign up for competitions would skew the results.

I would agree with the results, having tried the bottom one, and the top ones.
 
Telkom Internet ranks lower then Openweb? :D That says a lot about them. I didn't think that it was even possible to rank lower than OW.

Hello, my stalker. Maybe if you pay attention you'll see when I criticise them (TelkomInternet uncapped) as well...


PS. "plugging" would mean that I advise folks to sign up with TelkomInternet. Where have I done that in the last while?


EDIT: If you want to accuse me of bias, then it would be for pushing folks to Crystal Web (ADSL) and axxess (mobile) for data... :p

Moved from Afrihost to VOX effective 1 February. Maximum download rate were 2.5 Mbps with Afrihost on a 4 Mbps line. I have logged calls with Afrihost but the feedback was that my line only syncs at 3 Mbps.

First thing I did after logging onto new VOX account was to do a speedtest and the result is a download rate of 3.47 Mbps. That is a 1 Mbps improvement on a 4 Mbps line.

Seems like the line sync speed feedback was a farce.
 
Why no CW in the results? Or is this an older survey?
 
I have cancelled with TI effective Friday. Last night the wife complained about them not being able to stream again (I'm currently in Botswana). I have tested other ISPs at the times when TI would not work, and they performed well.

I was about to sign up for MWEB today to keep the wife quiet, but now it seems Axxess is the one to go for. I had the MWEB sign-up page open when I saw the article. Saved by the bell????

Axxess business 4MB or MWEB premium uncapped??? The survey says Axxess.

Not 100% sure, but they say because we only recently launched commercial services. Going on a year soon, to be honest, but there have been massive changes recently.

They do say that we did well, and they mention this after naming positions 1 and 2. So there's perhaps an inference there. Not 100% sure though.
 
If Axxess is the best, we in big trouble. Friends lost all connectivity whilst overseas and need people in SA to continiously have their links restored.

From personal point of view, I use Telkom and Afrihost. No problems except poor telephone backup from Telkom. I would recommend both of them anyday.

I would also say the amount of customers surveyed in MyBB is pretty small.
