New MacBook prices for SA

How do you justify paying this kind of many for a computer? Apples mark-up is INSANE and yet people buy into the overpriced lifestyle

When last did you walk into an I Store? If you haven't go to the nearest one... you'll be amazed how stock moves out of their store. People buying I pads,I macs etc.

Underpaying for something you use the most part of the day is even worse.
 
Core being core - I compared the prices of the base 13″ MacBook Pro between SA and UK and, eliminating VAT, the difference is R3300. :eek:
 
damn its quite expensive for these laptops, and with the Rand/$ going the way it is, will just get worse.
i've never actually 'worked' on an Apple computer (other than 'playing' in the shop for a few seconds) , so no idea what Mac OS is really like, nor have any real intention of getting one for myself, but i have to admit... everytime i walk past them in Dion Wired, i stop and look with certain amount of envy :sick:
would love to get my daughters the Mac Air each, even though Acer and Asus have similar looking Windows laptops for lots cheaper, with touch screen et al, that would be perfectly good enough for all they do, but there's just something about the Apple laptops... they are beautiful machines, no doubt!

Why do you have to justify paying for something you want?
If you like it, and the price doesn't bother you, buy it.
Don't like the price? Don't buy it. Simple
 
I might go off and buy some Apple stock, given that people are essentially buying a laptop shaped battery container.

Marketing/branding/brainwashing, Apple have very successfully created a brand that people want to buy into, no matter the cost, and feel smugly superior about. From a business perspective, it's genius.

I doubt it - the lowest priced range is ideal for students and students need ports.
