I have constant problems accessing certain WEB sites or files, I didn't make record, as it was not important. Now I am trying do download files, download starts, but never finish. Problem is already for couple days. Switching APN from lte.vodacom.za to internet, also deleting temporary files and flushing DNS cache on PC doesn't help. Have to switch to Telkom SIM to download any small file from the following WEB site: http://www.su-scon.com.tw/en/attachment/index.html

Any rep from the "Best network in South Africa" on the forum?

There appears to be no problem in downloading to my phone or PC with a VC connection from your problem site. I downloaded files without any problem. The VC Forum is "VodacomData".

Still can't download anything from this site on my LTE connection, no changes.
BTW, there is no VodacomData on this forum. Sometimes I see JVZ silly bickering in the news section, just all.

Call 155 and make sure you receive a reference number. Then take the problem to the next level instead of venting your blood pressure on this forum, you are only wasting you energies - Cheers.

You seem to be one of Vodacom associate (sic!), as you don't read posts on this this forum. I lost all my 2GB Night OWL bundle last month, had to resort to R149 Telkom bundle and also the account holder is liable for OOB. It was because Vodacom have made some changes in their SMS service and they failed to communicate with their customers accordingly. They also failed to attend situation when I called them from this SIM card for assistance. Finally they corrected the fault in the system, but it is not in their business practice to apologize or compensate for service disturbance. However I am cool. This month after enabling LTE APN I discovered that I am under unofficial LTE coverage. While my speeds are still 3G (4Mbps or less), average latency has dropped from 350ms to 40-50ms. It brings quite different level of experience I can tell you. It is why I want to fix this issue, not just complain. Will keep you posted.

What doesn't help:
1. Windows XP SP3, IE8
2. Windows 7 SP1, IE8 (used just for testing - not my working machine)
3. Putting PC in router's DMZ. Note: We can't switch off firewall on the router.
4. Changing to Google DNS server on PC.

What does help:
1. Chrome browser
2. Free Download Manager (picking up URL from IE8)
3. Changing SIM to Telkom
4. Using older RAS-type 3G modem.

Putting together all above, problem is localised on the issue how IE8 behave behind double NAT when redirected to some Vodacom (or partners) proxy servers. It can also depend on the router's built-in firewall.

There is no issue on Telkom, as unrestricted APN is default with Telkom. There is no issue with RAS dialing - having single NAT at Vodacom.

Still undecided what solution to chose, as IE8 is my main tool. Any patches available from Microsoft?

If I knew how this proxy redirection works in detail, I could forward some ports on the router. Any thoughts? BTW, Browser is using passive FTP (default).

Here are details of the router:
ZTE MF-283 (firmware update not available for download)
Software Version: CR_MF283V1.0.0B04
Firmware Version: BD_ZM8620V1.0.0B13
Hardware Version PCBMF283V1.0.0

Update: The same issue is with Huawei B683 (3G router).
Actually it affects many Web sites, including HP, Microsoft. To replicate problem you need:
- Vodacom connection (3G or LTE)
- one of the router with NAT (using ZTE MF-283 and Huawei B683)
- Internet Explorer 8 (XP or Windows 7SP1)
