Windows 1.0 to Windows 10 in pictures

Totally needs an animated gif :). Didn't realize those rounded block were the Windows 1.0 logo.

Because of my lack of old age, Windows NT 3.1 was the first OS i got to work with.

It was installed on a laptop I got in 1996.

I used it mostly to play chips challenge :D best game ever!
 
Windows 1.0 had support for a while !

I am sorry but comparing all the MacOS differences and Linux differences is far more interesting
 
Windows was just in a mad scramble to copy the Mac windows system which had captured the imagination of the public

Win95 nearly killed my ISP business. I made the mistake of upgrading prematurely and some modems wouldn't work until a patch was released some weeks (and many hours of my wasted time) later
 
Odd how in 1.0 the window sizes were different and from there all the same... someone's OCD took over...

So I'm not the only one who spent his younger years on Chips Challenge then... :p

Challenge to anyone willing: spin up a virtual machine, put Windows 1.0 on it, then try incrementally upgrading through the versions to Windows 10.

You definatly wont need many screenshots to show Linux differences. I mean, how much has the bash prompt changed ? :)

Yeah, Linux OSes are way more customizable and totally free. Can't say the same for Mac OSes. Anyway, I'm so happy with my free Windows 10 Pro <3 It's cleaner, faster and more intuitive than ever before. I'm hoping Cortana will be made available in SA region :(

Xp Home - 2004-2007
Vista Ultimate - 2008-2010 (One of my worst purchases ever :sick:)
7 Pro - 2010-2014 (oh the good old days. Still think 7 is the best of all times. 10 might replace it when TH2 build becomes available to the public)
8.1 Pro - 2014-2015
