Hi, except for the DNS timeout errors I had the past weekend and a little packet loss at the moment everything seems to be fine now. My Netflix streaming quality took a knock as well, don't if its a direct result of the DNS issues. I have however asked Unotelly if there was any issues and they said all is well on their side.. I'm currently running on your DNS as you can see, but mostly I use Unotelly's smartDNS ip address and I get the same result, so its definitely not unotelly related. The 3rd hop on my WINMTR test in the screenshot ,has had packet loss since last week, I'm thinking this could be the reason for my poor streaming quality?, Could you please check for me if there any issues on that link?

Our team report that we're not seeing internal latency. Do you see any packet loss if you ping bras.afrihost.com?
no packetloss on bras.afrihost.com.. will monitor and report back, thanks
no packet loss to bras...

Modem has been tested at Matrix, and is working as it should.
As far as I know we;re not seeing latency within our network. However, if we're getting to a busy time, it could just be that networking kit deprioritising ICMP packets in favour of legit traffic
It has been over a week, all day every day and evenings as well, getting slow downloads and cant stream any video at all....are downloads and facebook videos not legit traffic?
I'm referring specifically to packet loss on traceroutes. But definitely Facebook and YouTube are considered high priority traffic at all times. We'll need to test further and see if we can replicate this.
Ok hopefully Telkom is coming tomorrow. Reason for last time's delay was because they apparently had a strike in Gauteng and then changed my date (12 April) to 13 May lol. Ready to be disappointed 0.0

Fingers crossed!
Was the fault/ order logged with us?
Nope, did it through telkom to have my line installed. Actually wanted AH to have control of my adsl line but somehow Telkom misunderstood. Ah well. How long would it take to transfer my line from Telkom to AH?
Ah OK!
If the voice line's active already a tech shouldn't need to come out again though.
Migrating the line over to us takes about 14 days, with a few hours downtime when the line's in the holding pool.
Voice line's not active yet, hopefully the wiring is still okay and the techie will be quick. 14 days is too long for me lol![]()
Yeah, a tech will need to come out and install the voice portion.
The 14 days doesn't involve downtime hey, check my post above
Once the DSL is active you can just setup a migration to us.
Ooooh just properly re-read that now yeah ok. Will then migrate later to AH![]()
Difficult to pin it on the exchange, could just be that the BRAS doesn't respond to ping - which we see often these days![]()
I was referring to the 50% packet loss on hop 3 on Imagine101011's results, nevermind the spikes in pings on all hops up to 1000ms. He is also saying he only notices streaming issues with international, which is why I asked for a local winmts test to see if the results are the same and if so, then local is also affected in which case he should compile all the results and pm telkomZA with them and ask for assistance as I feel it's a telkom issue seeing it affects him on all ISP accounts.
I would also repeat these tests with a different ISP.
